My daughter and I are taking a four day cruise on the Wonder. This is our first time ever cruising and we could use some"head's up" advice from those who have done this before. Things such as what to avoid and what to seek out. Do cell phones work on cruises? Also any Disney wedding cruise information would be appreciated because my son is considering this for his upcoming wedding. Is there a less expensive way to have a wedding on the Disney cruise lines than the price shown in the information? Thank you!

I'm not sure of your daughters age, but if she is young enough to go to the kids clubs, I definitely recommend it. The activities are great and it will allow her to have some time with kids her age and you some time to relax and maybe go to the spa or something.

Hnoestly, I don't know of anything to avoid. The only thing I would suggest staying away from is the character meet and greets if you are trying to avoid younger kids. That seems to be the time that is most crowded, otherwise you will find the kids are usually in the clubs.

You definitely want to go to the shows, they are all great and not to be missed. Be sure to watch the navigator so you know what is going on and are able to see as much as possible. But the main things not to miss are the shows.

You should try all the restaurants at least once. Be sure to pick up some snacks at Pluto's and Pinnochios, etc. Room service is also fun to get. If your daughter is old enough (18) you can go to Palos as well. You have to pay a little extra to go, but it is an adult-only area, so it is quiet and a little more sophisticated.

As far as cell phones, don't rely on them for communication. You will be able to use them for some time after leaving Port Canaveral, but not too long. And depending on your carrier and your plan, you may be able to get some service on the islands. But while in the middle of the ocean you won't be able to get service, you will be too far from the towers. On my last cruise on the Wonder, the captain just sailed the coast of Florida for our last day, so I was able to make calls the whole day.

If you really want the Disney wedding and all the extra touches and stuff from Disney, you are looking at paying a good amount of money. They really do the nicest weddings and are worth every penny. Other than doing the actual Disney wedding, I believe his only other choice would just be to have the captain marry them and then your family could do their own little celebration. But I think that the Disney weddings are well worth the money.

I hope this helps!

Have a great cruise, you are going to love it!

We just got off of the Wonder and had a WONDERFUL time. Cell phones don't work. Don't plan on using them.
I wish I would have brought a bottle for water. They sell bottled water on the cruise, but it is expensive and we would have liked to have some to bring into port with us. If I had a bottle, the waiters or myself at the drink station, could have filled it up. Don't bring a lot of fancy clothes if you don't want to. Disney doesn't dress up as much as other cruises. For dressy night, I wore a sundress and pretty sandals and that was just fine.
Don't miss the shows. They are wonderful. Make every effort to be there. Go up on deck for the launch party. It is awesome. There will be dancing and characters. My children loved it. Pirate night or Caribbean night is great. Try to dress appropriately. Most were wearing tropical outfits, not really pirate wear.
On Castaway Cay, get up and get off the ship early as possible. You will want to grab a chair and a umbrella. They will fill up early. Chairs will be available anytime, but you really need the shade.
That is all I can offer. We loved the Disney cruise and have cruised before with other lines, but Disney knows how to do it. Enjoy yourself.
