I need to get a list of the foods that can help making serotonin.

I am already aware of the 5-htp is the precurser of the serotonin... so what I want to know is the food or vitamins that we can easily find and eat from out everyday lives.

I think someone said, the green salads and some fruits can help make me serotonin. Is it true?

What else do you recommend?

Thank you.

You can get seratonin from meat, poultry, lamb, and fish. That is no problem. The problem is letting the seratonin get to your brain. The protein in the aforementioned foods tends to block the seratonin in favor of another chemical. You can counter this by eating carbs, because carbohydrates give seratonin the edge it needs to get into the brain.

Serotonin is made from an amino acid called tryptophan. Any foods contain tryptophan (ie, red meat and chicken) are great sources as the serotonin precursor.

Serotonin is not digested from diet. It is a neurotransmitter that your body synthesizes from tryptophan. Any food that provides tryptophan would be a good source for the synthesis of serotonin.
