Question

I am compiling responses to the question: Is there a God? Please see my website at http://isthereagod.tblog.com for further info about my struggle to find answers & write me @ isthereagod (at) gmail DOT com.

Is there a God? Why are we here? Is there a purpose or is it like other animals, random and pointless? Are we really that special, or just desperate to believe so? Does our ability to think make us WANT to find a reason and purpose when one is absent? Do we fear death & irrelevance (like Becker writes) so we create purpose meaning & importance?

Why do some suffer while others do not? Can we change our future? Why us & not animals, the planet, other living bodies? Is there more to our existence than THIS life? Why do some miracles occur & others, just as desperately desired, do not (irregardless of how many prayers are spoken towards that end)?

ARE we all connected? Including plants, animals, etc? DO we have a symbiotic relationship or just another wish? What do U think?

You aren't going to get very many 'no' responses with the way you have worded submission requirements. A person can have very good reason to not believe in a god and still not claim to have an answer for how everything started. Many atheists and agnostics are okay with saying "i don't know" in relation to origins instead of filling the gap with god.

I also wonder if there is a God.

I do believe we are all connected (plants, animals, etc.) I believe that string theory is one possible explanation.

I think we used to have a more successful symbiotic relationship. Now, most humans are destroying everything/many things.

I also think we have a need to believe we are special and we have a purpose.
