Oh my, what a problem, LOL!

Go back and tell her that anything within ten years of your own age is fair game, so long as it is legal age, and that puts you within the same generation.

Then tell her what my momma said to me about 1973, "Ten Years!? You're an old stick in the mud. Anything is fair game."

Momma (1910-1987) was six years older than Dad (1916-1985.)

You might try to find out if that is the real reason. If it is, why is she willing to be with you at all? If she really loves you, she will at least be willing to explain to you her reasoning in a way that you understand. It seems like a silly reason not to marry you but maybe it is just a cover-up for something more serious.

I have a similar problem, my girlfriend is a lot younger than me and has told me that she is never going to get married. I am ok with this as long as we are together. I know that she still needs time to grow more independent which is one of the reasons that I took an out of state job to allow her time to find herself more.

there is not that much of a age difference so maybe thats not the problem. Has she had a bad marriage once before? You need to talk to her and find out what the reason is. But when she is ready, she will.

She just may not be ready yet...age is just a number, but if she is not willing to see that, then I don't know.
