You can just say "Hey flight attendant? Can I have the jumpseat in the cockpit?"
She will more likely say "No".
After 9/11 security has been tightened.

Im a flt attendant so I can tell you. 1, its against FAA regulations and that's because pilot and Flt Atdt jump seats are positioned for use in an emergency. Therefore you have to be qualified in helping in an emergency. That means evacuating the aircraft or taking over duties of other crew members if incapacitated

After Sept 11th you will never be able to enter the cockpit. probably the only way now is to actually be part of a flight crew.

I agree with the Sept 11 answer I doubt unless you're certified staff that you would be allowed into the cockpit anymore...do they still allow kids to see in there?

Requirements for flying jump seat are a valid medical certificate and employment at the airline in question. If you don't have both, don't bother asking.
There used to be a time when all that was required was the medical certificate, but that time is, sadly, gone forever.

kinda difficult hon; there isn't an airline that I know of that has jumpsuits. Reason is: at more than 10,000ft. you would have a very hard time breathing. Plus if the door opened, the de-pressurization would collapse your lungs at an altitude of 20,000ft. or more and most airlines cruise above 30,000ft. anyway.
Sorry
Take a cruise- you can always get a lifeboat:]

On US Airways, if you're in-flight qualified, you can sit in the flight attendant jump seat. That happened once to my dad who had to get home. he actually wasn't qualified, but he had been previously when he switched to gate agent.
