Lavey is the only one to address the ego self directly, which means his way gets to the heart of the human experience which can lead to greater happiness. Christianity often berates the individual into a catatonic state of anxiety in which the only acts one can do without any rigidity are those that their leaders have set out for them.

One thing however that christianity does address that Lavey doesn't is community. LeVay's teachings are aimed directly at the ego as an isolated being in space and time working for the sake of that isolated being. Christianity however, includes a doctrine of community.

Although I don't agree with most of their ideas. The CoS allows people to be who they are instead of trying to impose a set of ancient rules. Plus they don't have some sort of hell concept to scare people into believing nor do they consider mankind to be inherently sinful.

But, CoS is a so self-centered that I don't imagine very many followers, if they followed all that is said on the website, being able to get along well with others.

So, In the end it would depend on the individual and what they value as part of their happiness. I'd personally pick neither unless I was forced to pick one...my pick for a happy life is humanism.

who wins?
2000 years vs - what - 50?
there is a bigger plan going on in the world - and it is spread out over time, and involves our evolution as beings. This is the way of the Master.

Both are limited and oversimplified, but if one HAD to choose, at least LaVey's teachings are grounded in reality and not some lie about pie in the sky when you die.

If you want the happy life here on earth and not go to Heaven follow Levay. Follow Jesus if you want eternal life in Heaven.
