Yes. Everything we think is expressed in our language. This is true even when we don't know it. There is an old saying, "you are what you think" which suggest that our lives are limited or expressed by what we think, and we think in terms of language.

Whether you see an image or you think in words, you describe what you think in words. What you think is possible is all that IS possible. What we think is possible for us generates what we think about as life occurs moment by moment. We look for causes and effects, each bit of described language followed by other bits of language. When we start to control the language we use, we can control what's happening from moment to moment, and in so doing transform the way our lives unfold.

Of course! Language is a form of expression and has developed so we can desciribe our most intimate feelings. The way a person talks reveals so much about their thought process and the way they can make connections. That is why literature is so important, it is because through it we understand how language can work and understand more about human existance.

The ARE ideas and interpretations that you can't express in your own language that you may be able to to express in another language and vice versus. After taking French I do think there are things I could only comprehend in that language that just can't be translated into English.

Sure thing; ever hear of the Sapir Whorf hypothesis?

Well, supposedly, there is a a "systematic relationship between the grammatical categories of the language a person speaks and how that person both understands the world and behaves in it."

Yes in one sense... Cause each language has it's own kind of literature and kind of writings that become famous... Ancient literature etc... This kinda forms the base for the thinking pattern of our great grandfathers... And when your great grandfathers have one kind of thinking, then no matter how different you think, there will always be a pinch of your ancestors...

You betcha! Once simple example is the use of reflexive verbs in Spanish. In English, you say "I'm late." In Spanish, you say "se me fue la hora." Translation - "the hour (we would say time in English) got away from me." Spanish has a group of these verbs where one does not take personal responsibility for the action. That is certainly a different way of thinking and one that drives my husband crazy! This is just one tiny example.

Yes...especially if they understand what you say.

This is the way that education works.
The teacher uses language to make you think in a new and better way.

Yes! Many people think in pictures(symbols) rather than words (Japanese f.ex.). I find that my Asian friends can meditate much more easily than I (European) can.
Trying to concentrate on 'nothing' is perhaps easier when instead of words only pictures race through your brain?
