Stop eating sugar and bread. Go with fruit, veggies, bran, and water. It's sucks, but it works better than any diet. Also, excercise at least an hour every day to really start burning off some weight. Do not use anything for an excuse. You must do it EVERY day or you will not be successful. Also, DO NOT eat in front of the TV. Eat outside if possible and try not to hurry. There is an amazing array of fruits that most people don't eat. Check your local supermarkets or specialty markets for some occasional exotic fruits that are very good for you.

There is this one my mom had to do for her heart surgery. Every breakfast eat 1 egg cooked anystyle and 2 strips of light bacon. With 1/2 of an grapefruit or a glass of non-sweetened grapefruit juice. Lunch a salad with a glass of non-sweetened grapefruit juice. And for dinner she could eat meat, salad, fruit but no carbs like bread or potatoes with a glass of non-sweetened grapefruit juice. You can eat until your full with every meal just make sure you get the grapefruit juice. You will gain 4 lbs the first 3 days but then every 7 days after that you should loose up to 10 lbs. And you do need to exercise but not massive, just a light walk in the evenings or a bike ride. Trust me, my mom gained 3 lbs the first few days, but then she lost 8, and then lost 7 and then lost 10 after her surgery she went off it for about 3 weeks but never gained back the weight. It's worth a try.

I've heard that there is a new method of "fast "weight lose that being trialed in America.
It's called "amputation" & depending on the size of the person (fat/really fat ) u can lose between 5 & 20 LBs.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming,running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions,pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull,leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)
