i am a Christian, but everytime I post a question, they always throw hateful words at me, Christianity is about love. They are probably baptists

I only meant the baptist part because my uncle is a baptist, and him and his whole church show no love, and that goes for a lot of baptist churches, I am not saying all baptists though

Christians are just People too. Christians are still

in the "Learning Process." Christians were not

"Sent Down" from Heaven. Christians have

Personal Problems, like everyone else. Some

are Nice--some are Evil. Christians are Just

People. Don't base Your Faith on "People,"

only on "God," who Never Changes...

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU. I am a born-again Christian, I was a real Heavy Metal Freak back in 1984. I did drugs, sex and rock and roll. I was also a really good street fighter and was unusually strong among others my age. I eventually gave my heart to Jesus by saying the Sinner's prayer out on the Pier on Seal Beach, California in 1984. I became really really really religious and went over board with my Christianity. But I was only 15 years old. Looking back I believe that I had been used by the Pastor of the church I was going to. I had moved to San Antonio Texas right after getting saved. So I was going to a church in S.A., TX. The pastor had used me to launch is personal platform and his own freaking agenda to "reach" the youth. He used me to SHAME them into obedience. And Oh, yeah, it was a Baptist Church!!!

I can't stand modern Christian Churches. I am having real problems now with getting connected. I always feel that I have to Kiss people's Butts or I have to give a ton of money or I have to EARN a way into the INNER SANCTUM. I have not been pleased with any church over the last 22 years!!! AND BROTHER I HAVE BEEN TO A LOT OF CHURCHES!

AND TO THOSE WHO SEE THIS POST AND PITY ME. Please Pity yourself - For having a form of Godliness and Denying the power thereof. I would rather you were hot or cold, but you are luke warm, therefore I will spew thee from my mouth.

Or they might be other religions or atheists posing as Christians. And don't knock the Baptists, I have Baptist preachers in my family and they are definitely not hateful, just the opposite in fact.

I think part of the problem is generalization, which you have successfully accomplished twice, generalizing about Christians and the subgroup Baptists. Perhaps you should look to your own prejudice and generalizations before you accuse others of the intolerance you show. Look inward. Maybe you will discover how to love yourself.

Amusing. :) I would have to agree that some people claim to be Christians, and maybe they are, but they have not taken it the extra step to devote themselves to Christ. You cannot become a soldier and not fight a battle. It's the same with Christianity. With the battle between Heaven and Hell you must choose your side and abide by the rules and conduct of a person on that side. There's a difference between saying you are a Christian and being one. The difference can be seen in attitudes and how the person conducts him or herself. Unfortunately, those who are negatively aggressive give Christians a bad name.

Take care. :)

I believe its a cult of atheists that wanted to form a religion but since all the good names where taken combined some to call themselves Buhdacatholicterians. these people are very angry at Christians but are technically still atheists

the world is to know we are Christian by our love and I pray that our posts on here will start being more of witness to people than they have been. I agree with the hatefull comments thing, not neccissarly thats it one denomination or another, but as Christian we need to speek and act out of love.

If you're a typical American Christian, you find it easy for it to be about love when you're dealing with those with whom you agree; when you disapprove with another's point of view, then you condemn that view, and him/her, using the language of Revelation as "proof" that the one you regard as a sinner will be punished in the hereafter, and that he/she must be stopped from engaging in the behavior of which you disapprove in the here-and-now.

Much of what Jesus preached is that all of us must resist the temptation to follow the path of least resistance: to associate with the healthy and comely, the rich and powerful, the "moral" (however one defines that word) and the strong.

If you'll recall, Jesus spent much of his time among outcasts and the very kinds of "sinners" his latter-day adherents are so quick to condemn; to him there was no greater honor than to be allowed to wash the feet of the poor, and spoke of no surer impediment to gaining Heaven than being rich.

The root problem lies in Christians' tendency to equate that with which they disgaree, and that of what they disapprove, with immorality. I disapprove of many, if not most, of the things that they do, but I could never bring myself to declare those things immoral.

To tolerate things one disapproves of is ENNOBLING: it makes us better than we would otherwise be. That is the path of GREATEST RESISTANCE but, if Christianity -- or any other faith -- is not, in the end, about SELF-improvement, it serves no purpose, none whatsoever.
