Wrong use of the names of God show a poor relationship with him and a lack of due worship and respect.
Other swear words:
some were originally blasphemous but have lost their meaning over time;
others are social conventions without any intrinsic reason why they are taboo; what is acceptable in one English speaking country may not be in a different one;
others are calculated to be demeaning or insulting in a sexual or racial way.

It has been said that swearing is indicative of an inadequate vocabulary and also remember that God looks on the motive behind the word, probably more so than at the word itself:

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, `Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, `You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Matt 5:22

YES! It's a sin all right. All Christians should be an example and if you go around swearing others will say 'Hey look all those Christians are swearing so why can't we' and in the Bible it clearly states that we should not use BAD language. You need to try and imitate Christ and He won't go around swearing!!!!

Swearing is a mindset. People hear a group of kids saying new words (or old ones) in such a way that the parents take it wrong. They say they cannot be said. Kids continue anyway. It spreads. And we have swear words. They can be said without anger. They could be used in a normal sentence with perfect coordination and nothing wrong with it.

this is a toughy, my sons question me in the adventure that they receives in hardship for a foul word popping into their head, the element you ought to imagine about is, is it taking position on coincidence? spur of the instantaneous, like oh no the position did that come from?, or is it , like, you recognize your doing it and keep doing it out of anger or regardless of? if its the first, its purely devil throwing those issues on your head to clutter with you, purely say oops, sorry and bypass on, in case you're choosing to do it, then , sure its a sin, efficient? both way , our god is an extremely good god and forgives, purely make an apology and propose it, gl

I believe it is simply because of the frame of mind we are in when we do it. A wise man once said to me if you wouldn't do it in front of the Lord then it is a sin.
