I do french at school but I WOULD LOVE TO DO SPANISH AS WELL!!! If you do another language such as french or italian, it's easy to pick up words & meanings from other languages. But yeah spanish is probably easier.

Spanish and French are actually quite similar though some of the verbs and grammar in French are slightly more complicated. Really it depends what your first language is and whether you have experience with other languages as well. If you're a native English speaker than they will likely be equally as difficult. If, for example, you have some experience with Italian or Greek then likely Spanish will be easier, but if you have some experience with German or Dutch then French will be easier as some of the grammar and syntax is similar.

If you're in the US I would suggest learning Spanish first since you will get more use out of it and then once you know Spanish, learning French will be easy as a lot of the vocabulary is very close.

French is all in how you pronounce things, even when the words look the same. Depending on where you live and where you may be going I'd choose Spanish. I think it's like the second language in the US, although if you're in the northern US it would make sense to go with French, Canada, you know? Either way they can both be easily learned if you keep at it, its just personal preferrance.

French does appear to be a little harder when it comes to grammar and the many tenses (though I do not know a lot about Spanish in that sense). Many words are very similar between the two languages I have noticed as well, so when you learn one, the other is not too hard to learn either.

This is funny, almost everybody says Spanish is easy...
... would that be because there is no one that speaks Spanish properly in the whole USA?

Basic Spanish might be easy, but to learn the richest language in the world -Spanish- it would take you a lifetime!!!

Mexicans living in the USA, for example, are terrible at speaking Spanish.

It depends, they both still have the same roots as english, so once you start learning one or the other, your knowledge of the other will increase... that is if you already have good english skills, and be prepaired for your english to take a jolt... I took both Spanish and French and I much prefer French... but that's because I don't take much of a liking to Spanish, but it's up to you to decide.

Spanish is super easy, at it is easy to learn as words make sense to pronounce and spell. People who speak Spanish are nicer.
French makes no sense and it super hard to understand. People who speak French, are mean.
