I have very dry hair on the ends and oily at the scalp. I also have very naturally curly hair that I straighten with a flat iron and an occasional straighting process. This just makes the ends worse. I have found that using an aerosol shine spray works great. It doesn't leave the roots oily and adds a protectant from the heat to the ends and lots of shine!

Clairol Natural Instincts has a treatment called shine happy. It is supposed to give you shiny hair for about a month.

thing i learned is if you've got light hair.....blonde, light brown, etc, it is difficult to see a shine. If you darken your hair it will appear shinnier.
as for the volume......you could try extentions or there are volume shampoos.
