In my experience it's both sides that don't end up communicating well. A lot of times my husband won't listen to me because I'm getting upset with him or snapping at him and making sarcastic comments. I've learned that when something is important I'll stop him, look him in the eye and tell him what I want him to know and after that he tends to remember.

Supposedly it has something to do with the tone of a woman's voice. It goes into the part of the man's brain that music goes into so it makes it harder for them to actually listen. Don't know if I believe that, but that's what I've heard...
