There's no difference between pride and vanity, and few people are not prideful. Be true to who you are? Apparently you do not understand pride. Most Christians have a high priority to be humble, and yet pride is so easily prevalent and humility so illusive, that the very second you say or even think you have found humility, it has become pride.

You've eaten of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Now, that is just an idiom (not an uncommon set of idioms, in Aramaic, either), but it's still true.

They don't like themselves and have to put on a mask for you to judge them on the outside before you meet the shallow person on the inside.
