What a volatile subject you have clicked on! So, here is your question:

WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE PROOF THAT OUR CREATOR GOD EXISTS AND THEN BE DENIED SALVATION FOR YOUR SOUL, OR HAVE FAITH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS?WH

WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER AND WHY? No soapboxes please. No bible verses usless you have to.

Athiest scum, this question doesn't apply to you so piss off. You do not have the moral strength to undertake a test as profound as having faith.

OK first of all, love thy neighbour :-)

You shouldn't refer to anyone as "scum" if you want to get to heaven, it's insulting and reeks of a superiority complex. Everyone is equal regardless of race, sex or religion. Have a strong hard look at this prejudiced side to yourself and work on fixing it for the benefit of everyone, especially yourself.

Now to the question:
I consider myself a Deist. I believe that there is a "god" but not necessarily the "god" that anyone else believes in. I understand that there must have been something outside of the universe responsible for it's creation. What i reject is the dogma of every organised religion.

I do not need proof that a god exists, nor do i feel the need to follow the teachings and preachings of "clergy". I respect other people's beliefs and hope that they respect mine. I follow the "golden rule" (I assume you are familiar with it) because it is all encompassing, it requires no "holy book" or "priest" to understand but still allows me to live a good life with morals and ethics.

If I die and God (or Gods) sends me to hell for not being Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Hindu, I will be surprised and disappointed.

You've given us a "one or the other" approach, and that's really quite unrealistic. Faith is only the beginning of our salvation. Knowledge of God and application of wisdom lead to experiences with God. Those experiences constitute proof for us. In this way, faith is self-perpetuating.

Even Thomas lacked faith, demanding to see the holes in Jesus' hands after his resurrection before he would believe. Jesus said to him that he was blessed because he had seen and believed, but those who believed without seeing would be more blessed.

True christians desire to see proof of God. More specifically, we want to see God, himself. He is, after all, the purpose for which we live our lives! But that doesn't diminish our faith.

I would much rather have faith and take my chances, my faith is as strong as ever, and I am sure that when I die I will make it to Heaven. You become saved when you ask God into your heart and accept Him as your savior, only then will you receive salvation.

Do you have the moral strength NOT to have faith? I guess it must be more difficult to live without a faith than to have one to lean on. Non-believers' lives are more difficult to live, but they're more genuine, too.

Wow, I sense some hostility. My faith is great. I know in Whom I believe and I am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him this day. We are supposed to bless those who curse us, by the way.

"Good" (as if) Christian (I assume?) scum, you are reported for your hatred prejudice. It wouldn't be right to talk like that is a racial sense, and it still isn't right to talk like that in ANY sense.

With that attitude, I see you prefer the hell you believe in... Nazi.
