My cat is 21 years old, she is fighting through an illness right now. She is still very active. She runs, jumps, plays and talks. She does not seem like an elderly cat.

I am curious to find out what the average life expectancy of a cat is and how old she is in feline years.

I had a cat for about 16 years. Didn't live long enough for me to take out on drinking binges tho. I have heard of cats that live into their 20's.

Well first of all I was born in May of 1986 which means that your cat is older than me. Unfortunately, being born in 1986, and living in 2006, I am consequently 20 years old, not 21. Was your cat born in 1985 or is your cat only 19 years old?

First-off have you or the cat, received in the mail lately a sheriff card or something verifying this cats actual age, also you may want to look for your cats Birth Certificate with their foot print on it as a seal of authorization from what State he or she may have been born in. But I would say that your kitty cat is more than likely some where around147 years old ( cats age you understand).

Most cats start having problems at about 14-15, and many of them die at that age (like people at about 70-75). Those who don't sometimes make it until 20-22, but that's the highest I've heard (like people at 95-100). So your cat has had a full life, a very happy one I'm sure.

It use to be 6 years for cats and 7 for dogs. Not sure what it is know. If you cat is still moving and going and gets through this ill illness you might have a couple more years with her. Mine was 24 and just stopped one day and laid down and left her body. After coming to say goodbye to me. Enjoy your time with her. Make it fun.for you both.

Cat Age comparisons are not even-scaled..., at 21 years, your cat is equal physically to a human of about 80. (See the web link below)

feline years are 4 years to a human. so your cat is about 84, which is awesome for a cat. the oldest cat on record was 32 human years old.
