There is a lot to be said for the roles they've played as rebels against an imposing Empire--just a thought.

I don't think they are very different when you shed light on the cause for their extremism. However, considering Jesus did exist, does Osama Bin Laden have true compassion? That may be the seperator.

Jesus taught His followers to forgive their enemies seventy times seven if need be.
Wheras Osama Bin Laden tells his followers to kill anyone who doesn't agree with you.
Jesus taught that His message should be spread by word and by a loving example.
Osama teaches to spread his message by force through violence and terrorism.

Sounds to me as though they are as different as day and night. Hot and cold. High and low.

I never thought of Jesus as a rebel. He did not incite anyone to fight or kill. He brought a message of love and cooperation to those who would listen. In fact, some of his followers grew impatient because He was taking too long to set up His new kingdom. They thought it would happen in their lifetime.

I see no similarities in them except they both breathed air.

Osama and Jesus are different people whereas Jesus was the Son of God and performed miraculous healings yet was hated like Osama is. So to put it, both have caused people to love and hate them from different sides.

Jesus was not violent.
Bin Laden is someone who has misinterpreted the teachings of Islam to justify his twisted version "holy war".

I think Jesus used a 35" AMX shoulder mount missle launcher, whereas Bin Laden uses a 42" SAM "stinger" missle launcher during his training missions.

why do you ask?

Just a stupid thought. They were also both male and bearded, but that's all the commonality they have. That's tantamount to saying I'm just like Jennifer Aniston, since our birthdays are on the same day. I can only wish....
