The holy spirit is like the Borg collective, it tells us what to do, controls our actions, organises us for a single purpose, and makes us do the will of God, rather then self-fulfilment. I KNEW I COULD TIE CHRISTIANITY TO STAR TREK!!!!

It makes as much sense as any other theological explanation I've heard. Which is to say, none at all.
