Your question assumes that God and humans are separate entities. Many of us have been taught (erroneously) that God exists outside of ourselves. God doesn't have "needs" as we think of them. We think of ourselves as having needs (other than food, clothing, water, etc.) because we hold a sense of lack. We feel like we are incomplete without the "addition" of God in our lives. God has no heart hole, because God is Spirit, Love, Truth. We are also Spirit, Love, and Truth. Some of us have forgotten our divine identities. When we sense that we are "one with God," there is no sense of separation. We don't "miss" God like we do a lover or soul mate, because God is already within us.

Maybe. I prefer to think that we are each an individuation of God, created of the same matter as God. Together we are the sum (son) total of God.
Just as a drop of water from the ocean is comprised of the same matter as the ocean, it takes all the drops together to make the ocean.
So it is with each of us and God.

No but that's the most awesome thing I've heard today...Thanks for sharing. It was cool to explain it to my husband and I think I'll share it with my pastor...Perhaps he'll put it on the church sign...
I bet God feels the most horrible pain when one of his children turns their back on him and the greatest joy when they return to his arms!
