TTAD is Temporary Tour Active Duty. Short tour opportunities allow soldiers to contribute to their state's and country's security while enhancing their own military training and readiness.
There are three types - Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW), Temporary Tour of Active Duty (TTAD), and Contingency Operation Temporary Tour of Active Duty (COTTAD) tours. ADSW, TTAD and COTTAD tours are normally limited to 179 days or less in one fiscal year.
