I hope you are being followed by a nephrologist! If this has been going on for quite a while, you should be seeing one if you are not. Have you had a 24 hour urine collection done? This will give you a better GFR rate to let you decide what you should do. Check into Davita's website or National Kidney Foundation's website. Also try cutting back on your protein intake and if you blood pressure is high, try getting it under control. If it has just happened recently, you may be dehydrated.

This level does not need dialysis but you have to check the reasons for its being high. Some autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus) increase the creatine level and could lead to kidney failure.
In this case your creatine level could be brought down by supressing the immune system. Similarily , if you have a high blood
pressure your creatine level will be increased unless you control it.

Some medications increase the creatine level. Drink at least three litres of water per day and decrease your protien intake.

If your age is above 80 then this level is normal but you have to monitor it .

I wish I knew. I am Canadian so my blood sugar measurement is different. My blood sugar today was 26. I have had a headache for the past 5 days. It feels like my head is on fire on the left side. I have very good blood pressure. My sister in law tells me to drink as much water as I can stand and then have more. Of course ,,,,,,,,,do the proper diet. If your sugar is very high do not exercise strenuously until it lowers to a safe level. . You are thirsty because of the high blood levels. If you keep this up , you can go into renal failure, and that means dialysis. So looks like a wake up call for me and for you........we cannot keep this up forever. It is hard to bring a diabetic out of a coma and then damage can result. I often wonder why I just cannot seem to get a handle on my diabetes. I am on all the medications I can take , then the next step is insulin. I have to work alone so am afraid of insulin, I cannot afford the insulin pump. I AM MY OWN WORST ENEMY. !!

Does your dr know ? If not why? I've been told by a kidney specialist that creatine output at that level usually indicated kidneys are functioning at about 25% and that dialysis may soon be needed.
High blood pressure, anti-inflammatories such as aspirin, naproxen, or even anti-biotics can cause this situation.
Get to a kidney specialist immediately-RUN DON'T WALK. Once damage is done it can not be repaired.
