Jesus christ is the son of God sent to earth to be the messiah for all mankind. As his mission was to be the messiah, he was crucified and died for our sins by shedding his own blood.

You could start with the 60 plus Old Testament prophecies concerning Him which He fulfilled. You could use the Gospels and the different ways each of the writers portrayed Him. Matthew wrote to a mainly Jewish audience so he presented Him as the king of the Jews, a descendant of David. Mark portrayed Him as the suffering servant, the man. Luke revealed the historical Jesus and John presented Him as the Son of God, the messiah. Then you could go to Revelation which reveals Him in all His glory. May God bless you in this task.

Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ which means He is the Messiah. Although He is called the Son of God Jesus is really God made into flesh. He was born human so that mainly He could die for our sins so that we can be forgiven if we only accept Him as the Christ. But I also think that having lived as a human, God also gained a better understanding of the temptations we deal with daily, our struggles to live decent lives, our weaknesses and faults, and our capacity to love. Since Jesus is God incarnate, His mission is for all of His children to accept Him as their Savior and thereby gain eternal life with Him. Simply, it was His way of calling us home. The catch is that we have to have faith and just accept Him.
