Enforcement of world population control. 1 kid per couple for the next 100 years, second kid means all 4 in that family are to be killed in public.
Pollution immediately stopped or death penalty.

See, the problem is not technology, ethics, money or power is OVERPOPULATION.

Quite obviously, I would do somethings considered pretty drastic. Some examples may be to fill North Dakota, which averages 15 mph of wind a day, with wind farms, and to paint the least diverse portions of the southwestern deserts of North America with solar panels. I would also give massive tax breaks to individuals who would install solar panels on their houses and buy the most energy efficient vehicles. I would also require much, much more environmental education for children beginning around age 10.
This planet typically revolves around what the USA does, and if we started making drastic changes like these, the rest of the world would likely jump in line.

make everybody replant the forests that they cut down.

Set up CO2 emission quotas and market to trade them.

Finance commercialization of ethanol and biodiesel technologies.

Melt nukes and use them to in nuclear power stations.

And tax the freaking SUV's. You certainly do not need a 3 ton all-terrain vehicle to transport a sole 150lb human on paved roads.

Encourange recycling and hit hard on pollutants !!

Stop excessive hunting, especially for money and make it mandatory to grow trees, if you need to cut it down.
