I think your sample is pretty limited. Virtually all relgions have fought wars, and virtually all religions have had instances of corrupted believers committing atrocities. Just because the people you talk to don't talk about Islam doesn't mean people in other areas don't. Perhaps most people in your area are Christian, so that's the focus of most discussion.

1. We live in a predominantly CHRISTIAN country. :(
Hence, when I write about religion it tends to mostly be about Christianity. Why discuss Judaism when no one (hyperbole) knows what I'm talking about?
2. Other liberals are SCARED to denounce islam because it's not PC. Funny how they will rag on rednecks all day, but but a muslim in front of them and they get all PC. So much for caring about human rights.
I don't give a ****. I think Islam is pathetic, barbaric, and only idiots practice it. I feel the same about any religion. Religion is BRAINWASHING! If god wants to tell you about life, he will contact YOU, not leave it in a book written by LIARS.
3. How can you say most people don't think islam starts wars?
Watch FOX "news". They love to tell us about how barbaric Islam is. And since it's FOX's job to decide what america thinks, I'd be surprised to find someone else who disagrees.
4. This goes along w/#1. A lot of the time people single out christianity to distance themselves from it, so others don't ASSUME they are just Christian morons towing the party line.
5. I'm not saying that religions don't contain some lessons that may help you in life, but would you drink rusty water just 'cause you need more Iron in your diet? No you would not. So why accept the ******** of religion just to get the truth when you can find it yourself?

Everyone knows atrocities are rampant in Islam, so no eyebrows are raised; whereas Christianity is a religion of peace. Or it is supposed to be. So when atrocities happen here people are amazed and hence they point them out.

Nationalism is a procedures better significant in this international (or a minimum of contained in the Western international) than any loyalties to a faith. If the U. S. authorities (ruled virtually completely by technique of Christians) comes to a decision to wrestle a warfare then we can help the troops that wrestle it.

My answer is religion and war should not mix
Where is the brotherly Love and why does it matter what religious preference you have? Who cares who slaughters who. No one should kill and take no credit. True Holy wars are a thing long since past.

christianity/ catholicism focuses on acceptance and forgiveness... so it is hypocritical for a war to be started in the name of god.

but i just say that all religeons in some way cause most of histories attrocities and deaths.

Hitler blamed the Jewish, crusades, inquisition, witch hunts by the puritans, spanish conversion of the south andcentral america....
