I agree with you... as a christian it is not right to criticize. i have asked a similar question... it is vertually impossible to achieve this goal due to the fact that not everyone is open minded enough to fatham that another religion could be right. I do think it is sad the rep that all christians get by the ones that tell others they are going to hell... who are we to judge???!!!?!?!?

All religion is nothing more than a way for people to get false hope from nothing. They worship their respective gods as a way to make themselves feel whole, and to give hope to a hopeless world. Religon has been the reason for some much hate, murder and discontent, each religon thinks it is better than the other, and as in the case of the catholics, they are nothing more than lying, dishonest, child molesters. I believe all religon should be outlawed and punishable by death.

I actually got this from a sermon that my priest at my Catholic parish one told us on a Sunday a few weeks ago:
The religions of the world can be divided into three categories: the religions of books (Christianity - Bible, Islam - Quran), the religions of silence (Buddhism - meditation), and the religions of spirits (Hinduism and Native American beliefs - animism). I am a Catholic Christian, so I believe in a God of three parts: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. It is my understanding that each category of religions interprets God in its own, unique way -- and from my standpoint, they each interpret God through a different aspect of his trinitism. The religions of books seem to understand and know the most about God the Son, while the religions of silence seem to understand God the Father through their soul and the sense of the inner self, and the religions of spirits understand God as the Holy Spirit -- God's earthly presence in all of creation.
So while God goes by many different names and takes on many different forms from the perspective of each religion, I maintain that this is indeed the same God. While Buddhists claim to worship no god, from my point of view, the connection with the soul or inner self is a direct connection to God. God is just understood a little differently from the way I perceive Him.
So yes! I believe that in uniting all religions of the world, especially in forging a sense of respect amongst them all, we can achieve the closest-to-perfect earthly understanding of God. But I also agree that the task is daunting, and will logically never completely come about. But I have found that by sending out the message of such a concept, it is really rather appeasing to many people -- and by displaying its idea, perhaps I will encourage others to follow my example in supporting it.

i do not understand of any important faith that condones abortion. So how can equating abortion with ones faith artwork. If the cells that characterize a zygote were chanced on on yet another planet, ought to that's seen existence? if so how will you assert that's not existence in this one? Oh and a zygote contained in the womb does develop and develop. The values of the founding fathers were seen christian ones and both the announcement of independence and the structure reflect that. The treaty of Tripoli isn't the structure. have you ever tried reading the total treaty and by no potential purely the area that helps your view?

An attempt to unify all the religions will be made during the great tribulation. I don't think there will ever be respect for each other religions, just respect for the persons right to believe what he or she wants.

we can develop a sense of respect for all religions by destroying the ego that we have( not we actually. the ones who have it). if we think that our religion is only good and true, then naturally we will feel bad towards other religions. by destroying other the ego and by starting to think that all religions are right in its own sense, we can respect all religions.
all religions basically preach the same thing, to love and care for fellow beings and to have absolute faith in god. if everyone realises this(of course by destroying ego), we can unite all religions.

Not all of us are doing that. I think we each must be on our own spiritual journey. I think you have to learn and grow before you can reach oneness with God. There are many people who think they KNOW the way. I think that your faith will carry you where you need to go.
I also know that as we grow, we change. As we change, we grow.. Some of us are babies teetering and tottering about trying to walk, some are rebellious teenagers and we all know how they can be, some of us are the elders who have much wisdom and experience to help the teenagers grow. I am not talking about AGE, I mean in our journey, on the pathway to God..
So please be patient God isn`t finished yet...
God bless & Hugs from Texas. {:-)

All legitimate religions get along quite well with no problems whatsoever.
It's religions dedicated to evil, like satanism and Islam that are a problem.
