i really don't want to make this steriotypical, but its generally the black and/or less intelligent group that spells that way. its like they didn't know how to spell the word correctly so they just threw random letters together. i am a teenager and every once in a while a 'u' will slip into what i'm typing, but every other word consists of one letter? come on people, just try it out for a little while.

its not like i hate stupid people. its not like i hate black people. i just think that the english language was designed one way and why are we messing with it? think about it, when you where in english, when did your teacher ever teach you phrases like 'boi' 'wat' 'lmao' 'rofl' or anything like that. it can get very confusing.

People are lazy. But there seems to be a clear division here on the Net between people who write well and people who just don't seem to care.

I also disagree with you--I don't think race has to do with how people type. It depends on the education people receive and the environment they are raised. This is often confused with racial divisions--but it's a historical and monetary issue. ...very big and complicated.

I find that it's kids who spell the worst. Preteens are the worst. THey think they're being cute. I went through that phase when I was 13, too (7 years ago, thanks), but enough's enough.

And pay attention to what greatkid said. Sometimes those spellings are to show emphasis and how it's pronounced. I'll throw out things like "Worst. Episode. EVARRR." to get a point across.

...but, yeah, the rest is just laziness. :P

Criticism about how someone uses language is a reflection of your feelings about the person, not about the language itself. Spelling is simply a representation of words. Whether a spelling is "good" or "bad" is imposed by us depending on whether we want to like or dislike the person or group who uses that spelling.

In addition, it bothered me when I read that you had lumped together "black" and "less intelligent" into the same sentence. I felt it sounded racist.

I agree completely. Maybe if kids spent some time on learning proper grammar and spelling instead of trying to be "cool", society wouldn't be in the state it's in today. (I am fourteen years old myself, by the way).

steriotypical is spelled stereotypical, but keep trying.
racism and elitism make you look more "less intelligent" than poor spelling...myself i dont bother with caps and puncts, but why do you care? i think you just like to call people stupid for trix.
silly rabbit... trix are for kids.
