When you ask "who created ?" you are preselecting the type of answer that you will accept. Better to ask "what was the cause of that first cell ?"

Have you ever seen a Desert Rose ? It is a complex crystal of Calcium, Oxygen, Sulfur and Hydrogen. It's cause can be said to be the properties of the elements as they combine, and the enviroment in which the crystal grows slowly over time.

I'm not equating a crystal with a cell - it's a parable - a simple story with a more complex meaning.

When you are speaking of the origin of life - all you know at first is that life exists. Looking around, you see life in every available place - from the highest to the lowest. On Earth - be it Hot or Cold - Dark or Bright - Wet or Dry - Everywhere - Life is Common.

Now when I see how common life is - I have to ask myself :
Do I feel Special ? Is It only me and mine that have somehow sprung into being ? or been created ?

To answer that I have to look back at what I know - given a chance, Life will spring up eveywhere., and of course I'm not special.

Therefore I have to conclude that any place that is reasonably similar to Earth will have life - and it's source will be this wonderful Universe that not only surrounds us - it is us !

See, this is where creationists and evolutionists can find common ground. It's impossible to believe that all of the things that had to happen in order for life to develop here on earth happened purely by chance. Given that, the theory of evolution cannot be denied, either...how else to explain how anti-biotics lose their effectiveness after a period of time, other than to admit that the bugs evolve to become more resistant to them?

Is it possible that there is no creator and that humans came to exist through evolution from apes, that evolved from lungfish, that evolved from single-celled organisms, that came from water and sunlight, resulting from being a certain distance from the Sun, which was cause by the localization of hydrogen, which was probably caused by the explosion of a star.

Why couldn't God have created that first cell and pushed us in the direction of evolution? It says we were made in his image, how do we know that God isn't a single cell organism?

The first cell may have developed when a meteor from space came down and supplies some “necessary” ingredient to get the whole thing rolling.

Maybe the first cell always existed, and is omniscient, and omnipotent and a lot of people just believe that for no logical reason at all!
