Well, I used to be anorexic so I know a lot about this. Your period can actually stop, which leads to other problems. It throws off your hormones so badly that you can develop fibrocystic breast disease (benign lumps in the breasts), and acne. I had a problem with both of those, and when I started eating again the problems went away.

when there is an abnormal amount of weight lost or gained, it disrupts hormones and also can trigger a rise in estrogen levels or a decrease in them causing your monthly bleed to become irregular. so be careful.ie] i had gastric bypass surgery and for a year i was told to use condoms because the hormones changes are drastic that every kind of birth contol is ineffective but condoms! i was 150% fertile.!!!!!!!!! so eat sensible and be safe.
