Hi all,

I want to make my dad a coconut cake but even if I make it the day before and freeze it before I fly home, it would be out of the fridge for close to 8 hours being on a plane for most of that time. It's difficult to get some of the ingredients back home and so forth otherwise I'd make it there. Another possibility is to take the ingredients with me, but that is a last resort.

So do you all think that a few of the frozen slices of this cake will make it on the plane for the 8 hours? Or do you think it could spoil, etc. etc. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks much.

First of all... ask the airline if you will be able to carry the cake with you, and if so, if they would be so kind to keep the cake in a fridge or something for you.

Even ask if you can carry the ingredients.... because some foods are forbidden to take overseas, or to be introduced to some destinations.

And of course... don't eat the cake in the flight hhahaha..... I wanna have a daughter like you when I grow up!! ^-^

Good luck!

honey, even if it fails, it will still be worth the effort.
if i had to lay bets, i would say it would make it as a whole cake, if you give it some hours in the freezer first
whole cakes freeze magnificantly
48 hours, and take the whole thing, no doubt
24, fret a little, and take it anyway

Yes. You can even take a whole cake. Put it in one of those domed plastic cake carriers. It will stay nice and fresh. You must love your dad alot.

It'll be okay if you don't eat it all first, I would.
