The time of the year makes some difference. Whatever you choose will be original, because the combination of everything you choose including the people that are in the wedding will be different than any other wedding. The color needs to be a color you love.
Summer weddings with soft airy colors are very pretty and if you use a silver or gold with the pink, mint, lilac, or peach (among other pastels) are always quite delicious. Depends on your bridesmaids, too - the color of their complexions. The flowers you use will add to the uniqueness, too. I love lilac with purple flowers along with white and lilacs with shinny silver ribbons woven in. You can have the silver ribbon on the tables at the reception, too, with flowers. Lots of flowers that of the different lavender and purple shades with white would be beautiful and most women look just great in this color. The men's cummerbunds could even match.
Winter weddings are striking with darker colors like cranberry - that is just stunning with a soft pink with shinny gold on the dresses in the bouquets and flowers.
Best wishes for years of love and happiness!

Why not use your favorite color? If you are planning to have attendants or bridesmaids, you should start looking at bridesmaid dress websites or going into stores and looking at color swatches. It sucks to pick a color and then find that you can't get bridesmaid dresses to match or even compliment it. But so many people use different colors, that maybe it would be more original to choose an interesting combination of colors rather than just one, like green and brown or something that you just don't see very often. Or you could choose a non-color theme altogether and just find colors that go with it. Good luck!

My wedding was red and black. The girls wore red dresses and the guys wore black tux's with red tie and cumberbun. The photographer used my pictures at different wedding shows. He said the color was the best he had ever photographed. I had people coming up to me for a couple of years telling me they had seen my wedding photos!

go to www.theknot.com and do a search under quizzes and take the quiz that says what your colors should be. They also have great tips and advice for decorating and bringing in color.
