An atheist does not believe in a god. If no god created things, then they happened naturally. Evolution states that everything happened according to the laws of nature. Therefore atheists believe in some form of evolution.

I don't think that one causes the other otherwise atheism would be a religion since you believe in evolution without question. Atheism is the lack of belief in a supreme being so although evolution is the most logical solution; there may be alternatives equivalent to evolution.

Personally, I'm an atheist and believe in evolution but honestly why not consider something like stargate where we came from another world where something else happened like we were genetically engineered, who knows? it's a big universe.

I cannot speak for others.

I do believe in evolution. And I believe that all things happen without any outside influence (supernatural, that is). They just happen. Good or bad. There is no "Grand scheme". There is simply outcome.

I can tell you that I do not believe that this universe was created by design. It is a natural event. And to be honest, it seems more beautiful that way.

It's not disbelieving in a god that makes me an atheist. I do believe in mother nature. But it does not exist as a being. It is a philosophy.

God, as seen by the church, is (in my opinion) simply human. All decisions that the church makes are not for divine purposes, but for human ones.

I will not subscribe to models of God-interpreting by anyone.

Evolution isn't a belief, it's a scientific fact. I'm sure there are atheists out there who deny evolution, and many of them also probably believe they were abducted by aliens or that their cat is really a government spy. And no, scientologists are not atheists.

Atheism is in definition no belief. Therefore, the question should be how can an atheist have a belief in evolution. It should be agnostic not atheist.

Most athiests beliew in the Darwin theory. As a Chrisitian, I believe that theory only gives uneducated people something to cling to so they don't have to answer to a higher power.
