zebra finches arent social is that true because they eat food from my hand and they werent even hand raised.

Zebra finches are used to a set routine. If you move slow and don't do things to startle them they can be quite the charmer. I've raised them before and they do get very used to you and your habits. Some of mine just love to hear me talk. I had to hand raise some once. The little males from that clutch even sound like me when the sing their little songs. They have even passed parts of those songs to their offspring. Wild isn't it. Some will only eat out of cups of certain colors. Their favorite colors are green and red. If you have a boy and a girl your going to have more babies than you know what to do with. The Finch Handbook from Barrons is my favorite book on finches.Have a great day.

I also have two zebra finches, and the sales guy from Pet Smart told me that they are very social birds. Mine don't eat from my hand, but I've never tried.

Most of the information that I have read and what I've been told about finches states that they are not very social. Your very lucky with yours. I have 4 that tolerate me being near their cage but get startled when I put my hand into the cage.

CONGRATS!!! Don't let that slip away! This means they are used to human hands and have overcome their natural fear. Most Finches are not like this because they get little to no attention from people as parrots do.

Obviously, it's not true if the're eating from your hand. Eaithe that or, your just a special natured person for them to eat out of your hand. I don't know a lot about birds.
