The least of your problems is how to spell Chihuahua, lord I cant believe someone let you have a Chihuahua that young, it should be with the mom for a full 8 weeks.
The bed you have will work for now, she will start eating the sides out before long....the little teeth will need to be chewing things alot..
Be sure her sleeping area has enough room for her to get out of her bed and use the pee pee pad. Her bed should be just a little larger than her body. It is good to have her in a small area, an old playpen works great.
The most important thing you will have to do is be sure she drinks and eats several times a day. Have dry food, soaked food and water down for her at all times. You will need to buy some Nurta-stat or Nutra-cal. You can pick it up at the vets, it is in a tube like toothpaste. Chihuahuas are prone to low blood sugar and the stat will prevent it.
She will go pee pee and poop about every 3 hours, they will get out of their beds to go pottie if at all possible. That is why I would recommend a bigger play/sleep area. If you section off a smaller bath room it will work. Just don't leave her in there very much by herself. Playpens work best because you can move them around the house to what ever room you are in.
Has she been wormed or had her first shot? If not you will need to schedule a vet trip and have that taken care of as soon as possible. Until she has had at least 2 sets of shots, limit her exposure to other animals, they might pass germs to her and she hasn't got enought antibodies to fight germs yet.
Is she eating good? You will have to watch her feed & water bowl to make sure she is eating/drinking, if you need to, buy a couple cans of dog food and give her about a spoon full mixed in with the soaked dog food. Watch to see if she is really able to chew the hard food (and not just swollowing it whole)
She will not be very active at all if she is only 40 days old, she will need to sleep a lot for the next month (again you will have to make sure she eats and drinks) This is where so many problems come about with Chi, they will play hard for about 2 hours and then just conk out and forget to eat.....3 or 4 times of forgetting to eat and you will have a baby that is so weak it cant eat or drink.
You will want her to eat and drink at least every 6 hours....more if you can coax her doing it more often.
I would recommend you WAIT on the bath, if she is dirty, use a wash cloth and wipe her off, but make sure she doesn't get cold.
Their normal temp is about 101 degree, so she will need to stay warm.
Be sure her bed is not near an A/C vent.
I am still freaked someone let you have her at less than 6 weeks.
Everything I have said, the breeder should have told you all about.
Hope every thing works out with your new baby.

#1 Forty days is less than 6 weeks - she should have been with her littermates for another 2 weeks.
#2 Doesn't sound like you did much research at all - - your questions are very basic and you should have read all about it BEFORE you got the puppy.
Go out and get some great books on training. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com

this pup should be with its mother for 3 more weeks. and in most states thats the law. it HAS to eat every 3 hours at this age or the blood sugar will drop and the pup will loose all enegery and wont be able to eat!. if this pup already looks too tired give it some sugar water lots af sugar melted in a little water. if it perks up then feed wet kibble mashed. offer food and water every 3 hours till 8 weeks old then you can go longer at night and go by the dog how often in the day, good luck. pay close attention to this baby.

This puppy is a bit young to be away from it's mom. DO NOT give regular milk, it is not digestable for dogs.. If she is eating solid food that is great..but she is young so you might want to consider adding some puppy formula (puppy milk) to her food as she may still need some of the vitamins in that since she was taken from her mom early. Get this from the vet or a pet store. GO to the vet and they can give you a new puppy booklet which will tell you the answers to lots of your questions and it will let you know when to take her in for her shots.

Well, I'm a little concerned that she is so young. I feel like a dog that is just over 1 month old may be too young to be separated from its mother, and I am beginning to wonder how reputable the seller is. I really think that your best bet is to find a local vet hospital in your town and seek advice there. Your little dog is very young and fragile, so you need to be very careful. Good luck!

Remember to invariably supply ur canine attention even with the youngster around. Also before the baby is bron let hte canine int eh infants room let him sniff teh stuff and get used to the baby scent. U also might are trying one of those life like dolls that cries let him get used to all the activity. However under no circumstances go away ur little one on my own with your dog no matter how so much u believe him.

The soaked kibble is great. You should take her outside every 2 hours to cut down on accidents, but there will always be accidents, just not as many. If she don't smell to bad just bath her tomorrow. Be sure to take her to get her shots and wormed. You don't what to loose her to Parvo. Good luck!

WELL I WENT TO THE VET WITH MY DOG AND THE VET SAID THAT DOGS UNDER 12 WEEKS, THEIR OWNER SHOULD NOT TAKE THEM A BATH BECAUSE THEY MAY GET A COLD. BUT WHAT YOU COULD DO IS BUY SOME OF THOSE WET PAPER TOWELS THATS CALLED HUGGIES FOR BABIES AND JUST PASS THE TOWEL AROUND THEIR BODY SO THEY WON'T SMELL SO BAD. WELL THATS WHAT I DID WITH MY DOG WELL GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHIAHUAH !!!!! AND GOOD CHOICE PICKING A CHIAHUAH. CHIAHUAHS ARE SO CUTE !!!!!!!!!.
