No actually the girl form the ring is (Sum-Are-Uh) and mine is (Sum-Air-Uh) but I do get that alot lol

Well, Sum-Air-Uh, it's probably because they just saw the movie The Ring, and said, "Hey! What a scary name!" Then they probably saw that you were all covered in blood, which is kindascary and said,"Samara!" Yay! LOL!

Maybe ur parents couldnt agree on an answer and one of ur parents replied "same la" and "sama" in malay is "same" and 'samala" sounds stupid so they changed the "la" to "ra" (:
and tada~ samara was born!

Probably because your parents thought it was a beautiful name and gave it to you.
My grand daughter is also named Samara. And she is as lovely as her name. I bet that you are too.
