go down to your local bar. slap a 50 on the bar and tell the bartender to call you a cab when you pass out.

This always works for me, either I take a warm bath, if you have time, soak in the tub for 5 to 10 minutes, it totally relaxes you afterward. My other solution is I go workout right after work, I do about 1 hour of intense cardio, and it just knocks me out by the time I get home.

Listen to slow or classical music to take your mind off of what's been going on during the day and it will slowly rocks you to sleep.

If all else fails you, your last solution would be Tylenol PM.

You really should identify the reason why you feel it is taking so long to get to sleep. Maybe you should try some relaxation techniques. You can purchase and download relaxation tracks on the internet. If you feel stressed and have a lot of things on your mind, write it down in a journal. Chances are, you will get sleepy writing them down. Read a book. Lastly, if you are still too wound up, then you can either see your healthcare provider or can take something over-the-counter like Unisom, Benadryl, etc. Be careful and follow the directions closely while taking any of these medications. Some may make you feel hung over in the morning.

have you tried the solutions given. One more way - first think positive things you did today and feel happy. Then think negative things you did and promise yourself that you will not repeat them any more. Rest and pray to God if you believe and go to sleep. Tomorrow is new beginning.

Well actually i just close my eyes and think of things i did for the day. Well, yeah but i really do not know what can be a good idea since i am a heavier sleeper. But maybe if you try taking a a long shower before going to sleep might help.

Read a book that you find to be really boring. I betcha you won't even finish reading through page two before you start snoring.

This a weird answer but I always shake my eyes rapidly until their tired and have to close and just let your thoughts drift away....also tea does help most of the time. and a big comfy pillow does the trick! =]
