38 minutes will most likely not burn 1000 calories... more like 300 or so depending on the type of excecise. you can expect to burn about 100-150 per mile jogged.
If you want to see dramatic results, cut calorie intake to under 2000/day and try to do at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise per day. 2 lbs. per week is generally thought of as a healthy result.
My experience - 12 miles biking plus 3 miles jogging (4 or 5 times a week) and 1000-1200 calorie intake over a two month span. I lost 40 pounds in the 8 weeks.
good luck! you will feel great!

Yes, in fact that is the best way to loose weight. cut down on your food intake portions and start excersizing more, the more excercise the better. Try to make it a lifestyle, by takeing the stares instead of the elevator, etc... It depends on the amount of excercise and how much you lower your food intake as well as your metabolizism and body type, on how fast you will see results.

drastic changes in your daily habits usually lead to a failed diet/exercise plan. Moderate changes, however, can add up quickly. To burn fat (which is better than just losing weight), make sure your exercise is high intensity - sprints, slow rep weight lifting/resistance training, etc. It doesn't even take 38 minutes to rev up your metabolism then. For food intake, just do a few basic things: drink water ONLY if you can (make sure you have a glass 1/2 hour before meals to prevent overeating), and make sure that the food you eat is nutrient-dense; you will feel full while taking in less total calories (compare how many cooked veggies you can eat versus raw veggies - the cooking reduces nutrients so you have to eat more which = more calories). Obviously, avoid processed foods (flours and sugars) to eliminate "empty" calories. I am slim and muscular since adapting to these ideas. *by the way - 3500 calories is roughly equivalent to 1 pound of body fat, but weight is a poor measure of health and fitness because muscle is heavier than fat

Cutting back on intake of food will not help it would be better to eat more nutrient based foods - fruits, vegetables, low fat, and cut down on the fatting foods. I wasn't eating much that's why I could not understand why I kept gaining weight so I joined Weight Watchers in April and have lost 30 pounds already by just changing the way I eat. I have not really done much exercising yet but am working on it. Hope this helped!!!

excercise is good, cutting back on food isn't the main thing. An abrupt change in diet may just make you sick. Balance and types of food are important. Consult a doctor to set up a proper regiment, trendy diets are rather unhealthy in the fact that the makers never met YOU. You need a custom fit for this kind of thing - see a doc

Burning 1000 is too much for the body. If you cut your calore intake by 500 and exercise about 1 hour a day (another 500 cal) and drink plenty of water you should be 2-3 pounds thinner by next friday. Doing this, and still eating ANYTHING i wanted (cookies, ice cream, chocolate) i managed to lose 25 pounds.

Stop eating too much!
I know, you probably think you aren't, but believe you are. Monitor your eating and make sure that you're only getting 2500 calories or less. And get some exercise. Go to the gym and start sweating - don't take casual walks around the block. You must get your metabolic rate up. Of course, if you're over 55 years old, see your doctor before beginning an exercise program.

Alright. If you are going to lose weight you have to be committed. I going to give you advice and the first thing I am going to say is forget all that crap about cutting back your food intake. In order to build a body you need to feed a body. What you need to do is spread your meals throughout the day. Try five or six meals, but don't eat too much at each meal. Your total should be about what you would normally eat in three meals; the only difference would be that it would be in smaller chunks. What this does it help cut back on cravings because you are constantly feeding your body. You also have to change what you eat. Instead of going to McDonalds eat oatmeal or chicken. And cook your own meals instead of buying them at the supermarket in a box. All that stuff contains things your body doesn't need and some stuff has things that aren't good for you. As for exercise try doing twenty or thirty minutes of cardio, then do weights. For weights you don't have to do anything heavy. What you should be doing to lose fat is do a weight that you can to in twenty repetitions for three sets. That brings me to my next point: Your goal should be to lose fat not weight. When people talk about how they lost weight by starving themselves what has really happened is they have lost what is known as water weight. The human body is made of up to sixty percent water and accounts for much of the weight in the body. By starving themselves they lose alot of that water and also lose weight. So if you do gain weight don't worry. Count your inches not your pounds. As for how long it will take I'm not going to lie to you. It will take some time. But you didn't gain that fat overnight and you sure as hell aren't going to lose it overnight. Also when somebody tells you that muscle weighs more than fat they are wrong. Its simple physics: 1 pound of fat equals 1 pound of muscle. What they mean to say is muscle is denser than fat.

the excerise is good, but dont push youslef too hard or you wont want to do it as long. Not so much cutting back on food intake, but eat more healthier foods in small portions like four to five times a day. I lost 30 pounds in three months.
