At a certain college there was a professor with a reputation for being tough on Christians. At the first class, everysemester, he asked if anyone was a Christian and proceeded to degrade
them and to mock their statement of faith.

One semester, he asked the question and a young man raised his hand.

The professor asked, "Did God make everything young man?"
He replied "Yes sir he did!"
The professor responded,! "IF God made everything, then he made evil"

The student didn't have a response and the professor was happy to once again prove the Christian faith to be a myth.

Then another man raised his hand and asked, "May I ask you something, sir? ""Yes, you may," responded the professor.

The young man stood up and said, "Sir, is there such a thing as cold?" Of course there is, what kind of a question is that? Haven't you everbeen cold?"

The young man replied, "Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. What we consider to be cold, is really an absence of heat. Absolute zero is when there is absolutely no heat, but cold does not really exist. We have only created that term to describe how we feel when heat is not there.

The young man continued, Sir, is there such a thing as dark?" Once again the professor responded, "Of course there is."And once again, the student replied, "Actually, sir, darkness does not exist. Darkness is really only the absence of light. Darkness is only a term developed to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally, the young man asked, "Sir, is there such a thing as evil?"The professor responded, "Of course, we have rapes, murders and violence everywhere in the world, Those things are evil.

The student replied, "Actually, sir, evil does not exist. Evil is simply the absence of God. Evil is a term developed to describe the absence of God.God did not create evil. It isn't like truth, or love which exist as virtues like heat or light. Evil is simply the state where God is not present, like cold without heat, or darkness withoutlight."

The professor had nothing to say................ Do you?

Be full of Christ today, there is no room for anything else . .

God bless & Hugs from Texas. {:-)

I think a very serious question you should be asking yourself is if there is a "god" at all. I assume that you are a Christian, but you ought morally ask why your God is the one to be believed in. The questioning of one's faith can, afterall, lead to a greater understaning of God, so you really haven't anything to lose by doing so.
So here are some questions to ask yourself: Are there other religions that are equally as plausible? If no faith can be proven, then which ought you believe in? Can everything be explained by science? If God exists and he is all powerful and merciful, then why does he allow such untold suffering to exist? Do you just have these beliefs so that you can feel safe and comfy in your heart?

It all depends on your beliefs...

Bible Christians believe that G-d allows the Devil to test their faith though these trials and suffering.. or will just tell you that it can not be answered.

Various other faiths believe that our journey here is a stepping stone, where we are to learn from our experiences, good and bad, before we move onto our next step, closer to what we call G-d. And that G-d really doesn't have any interaction on this level of our existance in the universe.

Others believe that there is no G-d and that the human ego is the cause of all our pain and suffering.

And yet still other's believe that we are paying for things we have done in past lives..

I go could on for hours, but there are a few example answers to your question. :)

Its all about balance... here you see something bad, there you see something good. But then all and everything exist for a reason. There is a reason why bad things continue to happen. And why good things too. Its because He wants to see who among us is the best in deeds. You and me see something bad happens. What do we do to prevent this? What can we do to prevent it? What have we done to promote good? Or are we all talk and no action? God wants only the good things for us, but we have to work for it so that we can appreciate the value of it. Of course He can give you all the happiness in the world, He is Most Gracious Most Powerful, but then will we remember, appreciate and thank Him if everthing comes to us in an easy manner? Most people are an ungrateful for the things they have, only when they lost it will they know the value of it. Look around us, see in everything that exist, the air, the peace, the eyes that seeing, and this ears that hears, this hands that typing, the cloths we wears. All is Providence from Him, because all and everything between the sky and earth and beyond is and always His. Even us. Why He allow such untold suffering to exist? He does not allow it. Only He knows. Only God knows why it happens. It could be one of these reasons... those people have done Him wrong, so He punish them. Or as a test and a forge to make them a better believer. Or as a punishment for the things done in the past so as not to be burden by it in the hereafter. Or as lesson for other people so as not to defy Him. Many things but only He knows the true reasoning. What happen to other people can happen to us. Humans only thrives through hardship. Luxury and richess will soften our will and makes us hard to survive any hardship. Do God exist? Seek and you shall find. If you go to find out about Him crawling, He will come to you walking. If you go to Him fast, He will come to you even faster... you shall see... you will know Him, and you will never regret the first step you took to find Him. He is Most Loving, Most Caring. He is with you... even now, if only you took care to talk to Him from deep inside your heart. And rest assure, no matter how secret you think your thoughts are, He knows.

Evil is simply a lack or absence of Love/Truth/God. We have Free Will to live and exist in whatever manner we wish but if we make decisions that affect the Universe in negative ways, it comes back to us. All suffering is the result of the individual's own past doings, in this life or past ones, returning to the individual. This is karma, this is balance in the Universe, this is perfection. You reap what you sow. Everything comes full circle. Everything and everyone is an interconnected One, and everybody receives exactly what they need in order to learn the particular lessons that are required. There is no such thing as an accident, chaos, random event, luck, or co-incidence. Everything is one's own doing. Cause and effect are actually one and the same. "Both" had to happen because of your choice. There is also collective or group karma in which all individuals involved are receiving exactly what each of them chose to create.

God is a parent and He is in the process of creating children. If He had decided His children were never to suffer, He would have had to either supernaturally prevent us from doing anything that might hurt or create robots. If He supernaturally protected us then we would never grow just as a parent that tried to keep a child from ever falling would have to prevent it from learning to walk. No human parent would want a robot for a child, and neither does God. He created us with a will and intelligence and creativity and a mind—in His image and likeness. We are like baby gods in so many ways but we must grow and learn and change so that one day we may become God’s very children in every way.

Some think that God should just reveal Himself and tell us exactly what we need to do to stop all suffering. But mankind as a whole is not ready to be told. Like a rebellious teenager, man thinks his ways are good and that he can find peace and happiness without God. He doesn’t need God and certainly doesn’t want to be told what to do! Besides, God did send His Son to earth and not only did mankind not believe or accept Him, they crucified Him!

Man is on a collision course to utter destruction. If pollution, crime, overpopulation, war or starvation doesn’t kill us all, the nuclear and chemical weapons we have surely will. And they WILL be used one day, you can be sure. Man’s history is one of wreaking havoc on everything that is good and this march of destruction has been building until it is now possible to destroy every man, woman and child several times over.

God WILL step in but only after man has tried everything, done everything, tasted and wasted and destroyed virtually all that is good. Then, when man is about to completely annihilate himself, God will intervene. Mankind will finally be ready to listen to His parent and find out just how to live in peace and harmony and love.

Revelation talks about a time when ALL people who ever lived will be brought back to life to learn God's ways. Most will be thrilled to learn of the way to perfection, peace and happiness that will last for eternity.

God gives us what ever we want.

If we want something different we need to change our mind about the world we see around us.

When we do God gives us that new world instead.

Each of us gives the world all the meaning that it has for us.

I don't see the world as having untold suffering. I see a peaceful and loving world.

One of us must be living in a delusion.

I'd much rather have mine than yours.

God put us here to serve him. If everybody served him as intended there wouldn't be all of the untold suffering you speak of. When Adam took a bite of the forbidden fruitHe was cast out of the Garden of Eden. A placewhere pain and suffering did not exist.

God watches. Keeps him from getting bored, which is a problem if you live forever. We have free will. The fact we use it to make each other suffer isn't God's fault. As for natural disasters, and so forth, this is an opportunity for those to help the people who are suffering. Humans tend to be at their best when things are at their worst. We can either meet these challenges or cave in to them. Free will. Our choice.
