People are defined by the God they choose to follow. I follow the God of the bible and his Pro Choice views. My God invented abortion because he knows that sometimes it is not right for a child to be born. MY God knows when it is wrong and right. MY God does not kill babies or fetuses. MY God takes the soul of the fetus and protects it from harm. MY God does not fear the actions of men or the effect of their actions. MY God has the power to correct mistakes made by men.
The pro life god is a weak god. Their god allows the murder of innocent children and the killing of doctors and the bombing of hospitals. Such a god should not be followed. Do you choose my all powerful, all loving God or do you choose the hate filled murdering god of the pro life movement? Who will you follow? Who will you believe?

Ah yes, the hate filled pro life movement is well. The first four answers are reflections of the God they follow.

And now a pro life follower tells me that I cannot choose the God I want to follow. Well I just happen to think that my God is the one true God. And I believe the bible supports me and says the your god of hate and control is not the real god. But I believe that you may follow any god you wish. I will not kill you for your choice.

My greatest respect is held for the Catholic Church and its pro life BELIEFS. Where we fall apart is that in my BELIEFS, God does not agree with the Catholic Church. And the Catholic Church is attempting to force its beliefs on me THROUGH THE FORCE OF LAW. When the Church does this it is using its power to FORCE ME TO SIN IN THE EYES OF MY GOD. The Catholic Church may believe as it wishes and I will respect that, but to force me to live a life of Sin is not going to happen. I will stand up for my God and my God will support me. I Challange the Church to show me one place in the Bible that says that abortion is a sin. If you are a true man of God you will find --even one--- clear passage to support your doctrine. I have the support of my God, can you show me the support that your God gives you in the bible?

anonymous61245 -- Yes God protects the souls of the abortion doctors, but no, the killers are murders in the bible. The difference is that abortion is not murder according to God. If you have proof otherwise please email me. I would love to see it.
jane 1---Abortionist are doing Gods work . It is the same work God himself does. You are a perfect example of the pro-life movement, you follow only what you believe and ignore what God says and does. You have no right and wrong other than what your presonal beliefs are. Many women go to God in prayer to get permission for abortion. God advises either yes or no. And then you come along and second guess God? Good luck.

Jane 1 -- Just read your bloody abortion diatribe. Bloody abortions with brains sucked out would not be required except pro lifers make abortion as difficult as possible. God still makes sure they are done though.

2006-07-08 05:45:21 · update #5

jane 1 -- I don't address any of the other points in your response. God tells in the Bible what is sin. Abortion is not on the list. God says killing with a sledge hammer on the head is murder. The bible says people just die. Yes I Believe all the nasty side of abortion is the fault of the pro life movement. For example people die every day and the details of the condition of their body is not published. It is the fault of the pro life movement that fetuses are shown to everyone on earth. No other organization through out history has taken such pride in showing dismembered bodies. I believe your side is sick and lead by the Devil himself. Otherwise you would not use tactics such as these and murder and harrassment and deceit and lying--- all to do the work of a god that agrees with you. I think I will stick with my loving God.

Pro-choice God. When women want their children aborted, they always have good reasons why they do so. Maybe they're not ready for motherhood. Maybe they feel that they couldnt handle financially, and hence deprive the child of a good education. Maybe because they're unhealthy and know that the child maybe born unhealthy too or suffer from defects.

However in some seocieties, they've come to middle terms on this, like dclaring until which age (in terms of weeks) is it legal to abort a fetus because its not considered human yet. Otherwise, there are serious economic implications. Economist Steven Levitt was ostracized by peers and critics when he pointed out that abortion may be the key to lowering crime rate. Of course, it is an educated opinion that is free of any moral dogma whatsoever, what is only taken into consideration is economics.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet because I didn't read all the answers, but there is an example of the take on fetal life during Bible times in the law that says if a man strikes a pregnant woman and kills the baby before quickening (for all practical purpose - before it moves) then it is only punishable by fine (which does not constitute the crime of murder) whereas when a man strikes a pregnant woman after quickening and kills the baby it counts as murder. It's pretty much the same argument as vitality today.

Also - it isn't our place to say anything about abortion (judge lest ye be judged). We can't say one way or the other exactly how God or whomever you answer to feels. I won't condemn someone who has an abortion because it isn't my place. Witnessing and judging other people are two very different things.

God is both pro-choice and pro-life. He gives us life in the first place, and he gives us free will to make choices. He wants people to choose life. Concerning abortion, this depends upon whether God considers abortion as murder. Does life begin at conception? Does the life of the baby matter more than the life of the mother, or even the serious health of the mother (say, if having the baby would cripple her or drive her insane)? I do think God is against casual abortion, abortion of mere convenience, and abortion as birth control. (I'm not saying God is against birth control, but he wouldn't want embryos and fetuses killed so casually.) Well, those are my opinions anyway.

It seems you have set up a straw man, or God in this case. You have set the terms of the question in which I do not accept. If you truly want to know my beliefs I will write them for you. It is your choice to read them or not. I do believe God is ultimately Pro-Life, and not only because (s)he is the creator of life, but also because (s)he is the protector of life. Before you @ssume making an @ss out of you and me know that I am not a fundamentalist in any way shape or form. I do not believe in the Pro-Life paradigm because I was indoctrinated. I am a true spiritual independent and have come to my own conclusion. I also believe all souls over many lifetimes will return to the light, even those who have committed murder via abortion or the advocacy of such acts. Ultimately we have to live out our own karmas. If you thought about it I'm sure you would be glad your mother was Pro-Life when she had you. And if you think about it further you might realize the karmas of your actions/beliefs could lead you to be pre-born a child, aborted before you got the chance to breath you first breath of air. Maybe this pain will wake you up and help you to not only cease causing others pain but also help to influence others to do the same. This I cannot force you to become. It must come organically. My only hope is that something I say or do will be one of the many markers on your journey that will spark the spiritual fire within.

SO, you think that abortionists do God's work? LOL. If it was done by God, naturally, it wouldn't be called INDUCED. Do you understand what that word means?
Do you also rationalize that people who choose to do any number of evil things do so with the blessing of God since he "invented it" just because it is a human practice?
What an absurd argument!
I think it is an amazingly ignorant to assume all that oppose abortion are fundies.
I am mostly pro life and I am an agnostic.
You don't have to believe in some God or follow any particular religion to think abortion is wrong. Not in all circumstances of course, but in most (most abortions have to be done due to the individual's own recklessness -the pregnancy, and selfishness-the abortion.
The truth hurts. That is why people don't like to hear this. the abortion rate in America is astounding and the reason is because no one wants to take responsibility for their actions, they are looking to blame someone else, something else. The fact is, deep down inside they know this, it hits them because THEY who have an abortion have to live with it for the rest of their lives.--that is why they don't want anyone opposing it or even talking about it.
If it's such a great thing, why can't women who've had one even talk about their choice?
Does God condone hurting women then? obviously.
I don't think you believe this pile of crap you have come up with for an argument, you just are looking to antagonize Christians.
And I highly doubt that an 'all loving God" would think that dismembering a human child unborn until it bleeds to death as a method of terminating it's life and consequently, the pregnancy would be considered 'godly', right, just or kind. You should listen to testimony given by nurses who have seen a partial birth abortion done in person. --If you can manage to contain your vomit.
You must be one of those who subscribe to the philosophy: there is no right and wrong, only difference in opinion.
ANd if that is the case, why bother to have a criminal justice system, Isn't locking up rapist and murderers just our passing judgement on others? Do you believe people should be punished for their crimes? Do you even believe anything is a crime? You sound like a NIMBY liberal. as in 'not in my back yard'
you are a hypocrite.-- as long as it is not done to you, you don't give a rat's a$$. But when someone kills YOUR kid, poisons YOUR dog, steals YOUR $hit, you go crying to mommy law like a bratty little ****.

reply:
You obviously didn't read through or attempt to understand what I was trying to say to you.
Your argument is nonsensical and you know it.
If that were the case, then ANY human practice could be 'god's work', Do you also believe that hitting someone over the head with a sledge hammer, killing them, is the same as what God would already want to be done, seeing as he is always killing people anyway. If "god" does it, I can do it??? that is just dumb.

Plus, I don't even believe in God, so then what?
If there is no God, I guess you would have to be left to your own resources on what is right and wrong. Something you are incapable of, that is why they say we need religion, because of predators with no moral compass.

God doesn't kill people, people just die, or they are killed by other people.---you know, like what takes place during an abortion.

and no, so sorry, but they didn't invent second trimester abortion and late term abortion method because of people who oppose it, nor do women feel the need to have one because of any pro-life movement. Yet more nonsense.
You would like to blame all the disgusting evil practices YOUR side condones on the 'really evil ones-- prolifers?!'
what a joke.

Actually your gawd is not pro life. If a god exists and is responsible for all life, why would he cause millions of fetuses to spontaneously abort through miscarriages. The number of miscarriages each year dwarf the number of man caused abortions. Ofcourse I don't believe in god. Just wanted to throw that out there.

By your logic, then God would take the souls of doctors and hospital workers that people kill, so therefore that shouldn't be wrong...
Your logic is very flawed.

I believe life begins at conception, that abortion is wrong, and bombing of hospitals/clinics/killing of abortion practitioners is equally wrong.

And I am a woman....there are lots of pro-life women out there. Abortion is not a women's rights issue!

Where did you get this horse shyte, nobody is defined by the god they worship. grow up, and get a brain. YOUR GOD??? what makes you think any god wants anything to do with a moralistic, judgemental, ignorant arrogant fool.
ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHETHER A WOMAN YOU DON'T KNOW DECIDES TO HAVE AN ABORTION. WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU COULD DECIDE WHAT GOD WANTS AND DOESN'T WANT? Stop being so judgemental and ignorant.
You are male, aren't you? telling women what they can and can't do, and I'll bet you haven't even got any kids of your own.

The Catholic Church is not just against abortion, it is pro-life in the widest sense. This is often called a "Consistent Ethic of Life."

This pro-life stance stresses the highest regard for dignity of human life including that of:
- All people in objecting to unjust war and nuclear arms.
- The unborn in objecting to to abortion, in fitro fertilization, frozen embryos, embryonic stem cell research, and cloning
- The elderly, sick and dying in objecting to assisted suicide and euthanazia
- Prisoners in objecting to the death penalty
- The poor and minorities in supporting social justice issues.

With love in Christ.

Until you realize there is just one God and not My God or Their God and then ask people to chose who they will follow you may never find peace. Our planet will never find peace when there are people who are asking us to choose between different gods. What if there is no God at all? Then who will correct the mistakes made by man? God has given us freewill, we must all choose what is right and what is wrong for ourselves.
