Most people buy art as a social status. Some people buy art even if they do not like it because it is an investment. I know a family who bought a Picasso, yes they are rich, but stuck it in the bathroom because they thought it was ugly.
Now I am not rich, but I would make sure to spend my money on something worthwhile.
People that have money buy all kinds of stuff that is absolutely ridiculous. Most artwork I see especially post-modern art looks horrible and "crap" or call it "kitsch" .
Sad to see someone spend $40,000 on a minimal art painting. That money could have been spent to save animals, starving children, or the environment.

My best suggestion would be to make a wire frame of what you want then use rock clay ( which is like a fabric covered in clay that dries really hard) or paper mache. A tree may be fun too make. Hope this helps xx
