I'm making a Linkwitz-Riley 4th order crossover filter and I need a dual supply from my cars battery.

You could use a DC/DC converter of appropriate spec to create dual voltage supply from 12 volts. You could find them at electronics supply house. TDK among others make such devices. You may find it difficult to buy in small quantities.

You could also use 3 terminal power regulator IC (7805, 7905), use them back-to-back and come out with +/- 5 volts. Because of voltage drop requirements, 5 volts is the max you can achieve using serial regulator circuits.

Pretty much, use of DC/DC converters are required.
