I'm interested in taking a vacation alone. Would I look like a loser? If not, where should I go?

SINGAPORE...

Singapore has a relatively low crime rate, it's one of the few countries you can feel safe walking around late at night. But even still, don't take statistics for granted.

I had include some place attraction for your reference

1) Singapore Zoo - The best "open concept" zoo ( http://www.zoo.com.sg )

2) Night Safari - The world's first wildlife park built for visits at night. ( http://www.nightsafari.com.sg/index.html... )

3) Sentosa (Siloso Beach) join the young Singaporean playing beach volleyball here... ( http://www.sentosa.com.sg/index.html... )

4) Shopping - U can shop at Singapore's 24-hour mall, the popular Mustafa Centre and choose from over 120,000 products... Takashimaya one of the largest department stores in the region... Suntec City 7 million square feet of convention, exhibition, office, retail space...

5) Cludding - - Zouk
From a historic warehouse to a super club... The building itself consisting of three warehouses built on the Singapore River in 1919... Zouk mostly visited by students, model, hair stylist, young advertising exces of all race... Include foreign...

6) Food - Singapore is known as a food capital of Asia. Chinese, Indian, Malay, Indonesian, Peranakan, Western and other exotic foods are all available, making this tiny country a heaven for any food lover.

So what place other than Singapore is suitable for your vacation...

Going on vacation alone would not make you look like a loser. As to where to go, the only one qualified to answer that is you. What do you like to do? What do you, if anything, want to accomplish on this vacation?

I've always wanted to backpack through Europe. I hear also that they have a train system that will take you through several countries.

Perhaps you're interested in history? Egypt, then, or China (see the stone army etc).

Perhaps something more spiritual: Tibet or the Vatican.

Purely hedonistic pursuits? The Riviera Maya near Cancun (There are adult only resorts there too, BTW.), Tahiti, Bali, Las Vegas, Amsterdam.

Just want to be alone? A mountainous fishing trip or visit the Urals in Russia.

Art? ST. Petersburg, Russia, Italy or Paris.

Aquariums? Valencia, Spain.

Closer to home? Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore.

Its all up to you. You can go as far as your wallet will carry you. Think about it. Have fun!

Travelling alone is the BEST!!! You will love it and never ever want to go away with anyone again (although of course you will). It is guilt free travel because you do what you want, when you want and you don't have to worry about doing something you don't want to because someone else wants it, or dragging someone with you for what you want. It's also very empowering to travel alone, especially in a country where no-one speaks your language and you have no means of communication-you prove to yourself that you can survive no matter what.

I went to Europe by myself and would highly recommend it. You could take a beach vacation, but that wouldn't be as exciting. Have fun!!

I go camping alone al leat once a year, it's very theraputic. Usually on the Olympic peninsula in Washington. How far did you want to go and for how long? You've got the whole world at your feet. Think about what would be fun and what you've always wanted to do.

Travelling alone is often the ONLY way to go. You bring someone with you, and you're tied to what they want and their abilities and time schedule. If I find a place thats really cool I can take friends there later.

Get into a group tour or take a cruise. You always meet new friends that way. You can take them just about anywhere, so it leaves your options wide open. There are even single's cruises if you want to hook up with someone.

It doesn't matter where you go but if you travel alone, I recommend you do backpack. You will meet many single-traveller like you and make more friends!

Otherwise consider places like Club Med, where they organise all kinds of activities for you.
