Unfortunately you are going to have to put up with some answers from people that have no idea what they are talking about, or better yet, need to keep their mouth shut.
I will be the first to admit I am no expert, but I will try to be a bit nicer with my answer, and actually try to help.
The dogs can stay "tied" from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. You want them to stay together at least 10 minutes, this will allow all the "wiggles" to get where they are supposed to be going.
I usually allow the male to visit with the female 3 separate times. Example
1st time.....Monday morning
2nd time.....Tuesday morning
3rd time.....Wed night
Add your own dates to fit the days.
Then keep them apart until she is out of heat, this will ensure you know what dates to expect babies and will be prepared.
Just be sure to mark your calender, count from the first date bred and between the 59 to 63 day you should have babies (with a little help from your dog)
Once she starts showing, you will usually be able to see the difference in her stomach by 45 days, be sure you know who is on call at your vets the week you are expecting babies. It is always best to be prepared.
Good luck.

If you don't know how long they're supposed to be "stuck" for, you may be setting yourself up for more problems than you know! A female CAN become pregnant without a "tie", but the most successful breedings usually involve a "tie" which may last twenty to forty minutes. Don't break them apart by force - you could seriously injure the dogs.

A female doesn't need to be bred to satisfy her emotional needs. There is an awful lot that goes into breeding dogs right - are you sure you're ready? Boxers are usually easy whelpers, but do you know how to tell if the pups need to be delivered by an expensive emergency c-section? Do you know how to build a proper whelping box with a pig-rail, so that none of the pups can be crushed behind or under their mom? Do you know what eclampsia is? If you don't, your dog could die. Do you know how to tell when all the pups have been born? If there are any left inside her, they could die and so could she. Do you know where the nearest emergency clinic is? Dogs often deliver in the middle of the night. If there are any problems with the whelping, it may cost you $100 just to walk in the clinic's door - then all the other costs on top of that.
Before you breed, you have to have your vet do a health exam and fecal tests and blood tests for intestinal worms and heartworm to be sure her health is good. Then make sure your dog and the male you select (who should be a champion - your pups will be worth more!) are tested for Brucellosis - a canine VD.
If you breed her to a top quality male from an experienced breeder, they can help you with advice and may even show up to help you deliver the pups - but usually you're on your own. They can also advise you as to whether or not your female is good enough to breed and that she has no major faults that she could pass on. Expect to pay at least the sale price of one pup for your stud fee.
If you just want a pup to keep for yourself, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to buy one than to breed your own. The pups are going to need food and shots and worming and lots of care for eight weeks. Have you got the time and energy? You won't make much money breeding dogs if you're doing it right! One of my breeder friends once calculated that she made less than $1.85 per hour after expenses in a litter with no problems. I bred one litter myself (from champion dogs!), but now I'd rather go and buy the pup I want.

They usually stay stuck for about 30 minutes, but can get pregnant with shorter times. Good luck with the breeding.

DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE!!!
For every puppy you breed and find a home for you are killing a puppy at a shelter.
Call a Boxer rescue in your area (a vet will have the number) and ask how many homeless purebreeds they have right now. All of those dogs were bred by someone just like you, who thought that their puppies were going to good homes. That is not always the case.
There are enough Boxers killed in shelters everyday , just becaues there are not enough homes for them all. We don't need anymore of them.
Please, PLEASE, please spay and neuter your pets. It really does save lives.

I'd say that if you don't know the answer to this question, then you don't know enough to be breeding dogs, but since you already have, check out the links.

IT USUALLY DOES NOT TAKE LONG I SUGGEST 5-6 MINUTES AND THEN POUR WATER ON THEM TO BREAK THEM APRT I HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES WITH MY BOXERS AND IT SEEMS TO WORK BUT NOT EVERY TIME DOES A PREGNANCY TAKE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO SO GOOD LUCK!!!!

They need to be 'stuck' but it doesn't have to be any certain time. Just don't ever try to separate them, as you may do injury to one or both of them. Forceful separating, such as pouring water on them, etc..can cause internal tears, which invite infection, and can cause abortion.
