All immigrants have to have documents. My parents are immigrants, and they have documentation. Is this racist? Absolutely not. No one is singling out hispanic immigrants for documentation, this is something required of all immigrants. I also have documentation of sorts. It is called a social security card. I also have photo id. Your question lacks knowledge of common sense.

You don't need documentation if you are Hispanic - you need documentation if you are not a citizen of the United States and would like to be here either for a visit or to live here. You are a criminal if you make the choice to come to the United States illegally. Why won't you just get in line, do things the legal way?
A nation without borders is not a nation at all. Should the US take anyone at all that can manage to make it to our shores? Everyone in Africa, Asia, Europe, where? Where would it stop or do you think it should just be a free for all? Chaos would reign and the middle class would disappear completely.

The government has a right to know exactly who is in the country, where they are and what they're up to. Most Americans are documented be they balck, white, jew or gay. They have passports, drivers licenses, SS#'s, green cards and other forms of ID. What the hell is so special about hispanics that they should not be documented as well, particularly those among them that have entered the country illegally?

No it is not. Census takes everyone in to account, white black, hispanic, asian etc. Half of the applications for jobs, schools, etc, take that info as well. It is for statistic reasons only. It is spread accross the board with all races in America. We all fill out the same forms, the same documents, and check that little box of our color, our sex, our age, etc. Educate yourself before you pose a question. Why do people insist on discriminating a certain cross section of humanity? YOU HAVE JUST STEROTYPED BY SAYING AMERICANS INSIST ON DISCRIMINATING as if america is the only country that does? Therefore you fall into a racist category by that statement.

Actually, we all need documentation for all sorts of things.
It isn't the documents, it is whether there was space in our education and service programs allotted for you, and whether you were one we chose to receive those subsidies we pay for.
Many hispanics need the same documentation I have. That is to say, they are American. Others are legally here.
Illegal immigrants from other countries are in the same position as illegal hispanic immigrants.
When there were fewer, we didn't make a fuss. But paying for 12 to 20 million to be educated and have health care when our own can't get adequate education and health care is insane.
Mexico doesn't give these things to their own people, so why on earth should we be expected to do that?

Don't feel special, everyone needs some form of documentation to prove that they are indeed a citizen.
And you need special documentation if you are an immigrant, whether gay or white or black or jewish or straight (you spelled it wrong up there, bud) or fat or bisexual or handicap or blue-eyed OR hispanic.
Y'see? Good.

Discrimination is not an American tradition. It is a tradition that plagues the world's societies.
You do not need documentation to prove that you are a minority. Additionally, the term minority is becoming meaningless (especially in California). We have more Hispanics than what you refer to as whites. We have more Asians in the South Bay that what you might call white.
No one insists on discrimination. That is an trait of some individuals. It is usually because they are afraid or ignorant of their own limitations and feel the need to blame others.

I really do think you're posting your inane questions (about 3 or 4 tonight I think) just to get a rection ... you can't seriously mean that you think that "Hispanics" are the only ones who are required to have what you refer to as "documentation"? All legal immigrants have their green card ... all American citizens that I know of have photo ID of one description or another ... we all have social security numbers ... if you are an ILLEGAL person, Hispanic or otherwise, you don't have what is required by law ... which is a valid entry permit, and if you are immigrating, proper documentation or proof that you have applied for immigration or citizenship ... that really isn't all that difficult to understand, is it? And it has absolutely nothing to do with racism, if that's what you're implying ....

LEGAL entry into a country and proper documentation and following the laws is required in just about every country, and many of them, Mexico for example, have stiff penalties for violating these and being in a country illegally. That is what laws are for. Anyone violating the laws is illegal and as such is a criminal. Yes America requires documentation on ALL immigrants and so do lots of other countries.
