If you are a teenager going through the usual voice-changing part of puberty, I hate to tell you but time is going to be your best ally.

In the meantime, stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. Not only is it generally good for you, it helps keep your vocal cords soft and healthy. Try drinking some hot tea to soothe any irritation from the cracking.

I don't know if this will really "strengthen" your voice, but do continue to sing. When you are practicing or goofing off alone, try to sing a sustained note. Go gentle, keep the air flow smooth, but let the tone be nice and full. Change to a note just a little bit higher and repeat. Whatever you do, do NOT do anything that hurts. If your voice feels raw after singing, you are pushing too hard and could do damage.

(If you are older than a teenager and experiencing this, I apologize. Most of what I've said above will still apply, but there are some differences.)
