I know all about this problem i even took my bichon frise to the vet over it and he told me not to worry about it and learn to live with it if i loved my dog that much because i would have to severly mistreat it to get it to stop because it is an inheirted trait from their parents its the only way they know how to sense stuff im not saying she couldnt see or hear but these senses are weak on this type of dog and so they lick everything to become familiar with it.

My dog licks, every thing ,,, all the time, also. When I find out , I'll let you know. She's a fiest.

You NEVER hit a dog. A library book I read on training said they NEVER FORGET you hit them.

They lick as a greeting.

Besides, if you smack her nose, no one will EVER be able to pet her for her fear of being popped by someone else.

Be sure to leave plenty of fresh water daily. My dog is really drinking a lot this summer. She is indoors.

Be glad you have a friendly dog--let her lick all she wants. But you know, sometimes my dog wakes us in the night by licking on her bed!!!! Infernal licking, ......but we just say "QUIT!"--but it's our voice and not hitting her that stops it.

Get you a good library book on training.

It will be hard at first, but try to ignore her when she is licking and praise her when she is not. Start when she is doing something else, like playing with something or eating, say, "good girl, no licking". Then, when she gets excited and licks, turn and leave her alone. Do this a few times a day.

If she licks everything then go to a vet, but if she's jusat licking u then it's fine. If u get annoyed at her just tell her to stop. She will understand soon enough. It worked on my dogs and I have three dogs.

you do not say how old your puppy is, notwithstanding the chewing on your fingers or ft is termed "mouthing", pups try this. you would possibly want to no longer enable him do it, notwithstanding. His mom would make a pointy noise jointly with "yip" and end fiddling with the dogs - this is what you want to do, make a pointy sound and genuinely end taking know him even as he tries to "mouth" you - he will ultimately get the theory that mouthing skill end of play time or petting. in the period in-between, grant him with demanding chews, Kongs, CET chews, pig's hoofs (no rawhide, swells if swallowed and would reason intestinal obsturctions) - demanding toys he can bite as a replace of your fingers or ft. pups will omit their mom and littermates, so he does favor cuddling, plus this is how he bonds with you, this is what you want - he's your spouse animal. even as he receives older you may favor to contemplate team obedience education, that teaches you options to coach your dogs and facilitates socialize him with different dogs and new human beings. Congratulations on your new dogs, also on having study up on being concerned for him. Sounds as in case you'd be a good dogs proprietor.

You might want to have her taken to the vet. She might be slightly dehydrated if her gums aren't pink. Sometimes dogs that are dehydrated will lick the salt of our skin..aka exsessive licking. or she might have a behavioral issue that you might need Ceasar Milan the Dog Whisper to correct.

Please don't smack her. This can actually make it worse by making her incredibly nervous.

Please call a local behaviorist to talk to you about your bichon. Maybe join a local training club and start taking your pup there. This way you will learn how to avoid behavior problems and such.
