When my dog eats she takes one kibble and then goes to the other side of the house to eat it. Then she comes back gets a new one and repeats the same steps. WTF? is this normal?

I have two chihuahuas that do the same thing...it's almost like they are doing it so no one can get it from them...I think it is normal, just as long as they are eating enough.

have you tried moving the place that the bowl is in to the place it where the dog eats the food. Its a territorial thing the dog does stuff like that cause your dog is worried that the food will be taken away. It is a nature thing in wolves when they are not a alpha and they think they shouldn't be eating. They will try to take a little piece and run off with it in hopes that the alpha won't see and so that they can hopefully eat the food without any contest.

I don't know why she does it but at least you are not alone. I have a Doberman and a minpin and they both do it. Only they take mouthfulls and drop it all over and then scramble to pick it up. It is like a game or something. Sometimes I get so sick of stepping on mislaid kibble I could scream. I will check back and see if someone has an answer cause I would love to know!

Chances are she came from a place where there were lots and lots of other dogs. I believe that they're called puppy mills.
Breeders of purebreds, who breed a lot of dogs at once, I think are also a kind of a puppy mill.
Your dog does this, because in a place where there's only so much food and many many dogs, they take what they can and run with it, so other dogs can't get it.

My dog came from a place like that. She's 1 1/2 yrs old. She's stopped doing it with her regular dog food, but continues to do it with her treats. I keep telling her that I don't want her treats...but I guess she doesn't believe me.

I'm not sure, but my hamster used to have his food in one side of the cage, and then store it in his mouth, and then move it to the other side if the cage and eat it. I think your dog likes to eat it on the other side of the house. Or maybe he just wants to eat in private. If goes to a certain spot, then that is where he likes to eat. If he just goes to the other side of the house, I might want to eat alone. (But I am just guessing, it could be something else.)

My dog does the same, and I am sure others do also. It's normal. At least she isn't hiding her kibble in your couch or on your bed. I have it everywhere. :)

I have seen many dogs this and sometimes it is because when they were little they probably had to fight for food from the mother's breast and this causes them to get their food and run when they are bigger and eat away from the main source of food.
It is completely normal

my dog did the same thing except hell get a small mouth full and go into my bedroom and eat it, we moved his bowl and so far he stays in the room and eats out of the bowl now . try moving the bowl to where she takes it to and see if that helps.

The dog is fine all dogs do that. They don't want you taking their food or they are embarrassed eating in fornt of you . Hey! as long as your dog is eating your just fine!
