OK, I'm doing a project on a golf course for work...

How do you say words like tee, green, and fairway in Spanish?

I can look at a dictionary of course but I'd rather here from good Spanish speakers; are there even words for this stuff in Spanish? (I pretty much just learned these English words last year).

Thanks

Fairway is "calle", but "tee" and "green" are used in English, no translation.
At least in Argentina, where people are rather snobbish and think that using foreign words is "elegant". LOL.

Golf player here as well. Basically you will find the translation to the terms in a dictionary but the do not mean squat, no one who really plays golf uses it. For example if you want to say in Spanish:

"Hey, did I land on the green? I can´t see my ball"

you will say:

"Hey, caí en el green? No veo la bola"

So, terms like tee, green and fairway do not have a real translation as everyone uses their terms in English. You can use "fairway" and everyone knows what are you talking about.

Some things that might help:

Clubs - Los palos
Driver - Madera 1 or Driver
3 Wood - Madera 3
Iron - Los hierros
7 Iron - Hierro siete
Hole in One - Hole in One or de un tiro
Par - Par
Birdie - Birdie
Eagle - Eagle
Bogey - Bogey
One over Par - Uno sobre Par
19th Hole - Hoyo 19 or el Bar
Drunken Golfer - Golfista Bolo
Fore - Fore

Hope this helps.

Tee = El tee
Green = El Green
Fairway = La calle

I know they look wrong, cuz they are the same and the one that is different means street usually, but they really are right. haha. ok, well good luck on your project.
