Sadly there are not enough loving homes for pets. That is why there are so many in shelters, and so many put to sleep each year. I have taken in so many strays over the years, because I cannot stand to see them tossed aside and starved. If I could, I would save them all.

Good for you for taking a stray cat in...I just took a stray cat who turned out to be pregnant...still waiting on those babies...tonight maybe the night!!! To give EVERY animal a home there needs to be less animals...cats seriously outnumber humans...severe over population of cats and dogs in the U.S. To control this people need to spay and neuter their pets, eliminating unwanted kitties. Also SNR (spay neuter release) has been proven very effective for helping control feral cat populations (a feral cat is a wild house cat, not accustomed to human contact). So maybe one day there WILL be enough homes for all the homeless animals if people will just spay and neuter their animals and stop letting them roam around on their own free will. Cats are best kept inside. Keeps them safer and less likely to contact diseases such as FIV and Feline Lukemia. Good luck with your new addition to your family!!!

i am the same way and me and my husband are going to start a shelter for all stray and unwanted animals. if you have the time and money you might want to try it. you do also get paid for it depending on what state you live in. i would contact your humane society or animal control for the details on how to go about getting a shelter started.by the way i myself have taking in alot of strays, i have 3 cats 4 dogs and a rabbit, so i know what you mean about having no regrets

Become a ******!!! I nag everyone to spay/neuter. I just adopted a kitten who was abandoned with her two sisters by a dumpster. I now have four cats, all of whom were abandoned. I have had as many as 5 cats (two died two years ago of natural causes - old age). My oldest is now 16 and in perfect health. Everyone comments on how wonderful and healthy and loving my cats are. I think they are just grateful, and I am grateful that they are my companions!!
