I have medium brown hair with very little red in it, but however, its there. I also have very pale, pinkish skin color and blue eyes. I have dyed my hair at home for years, but I usually only highlight it, or dye it a darker brown. Right now it is my natural color. I want it to be a lighter ash brown, maybe almost a dark, dirty blonde. On the Revlon website they recommended I use natural light ash brown. This color "looked" like exactly what I want. I am wondering if anyone else had attempted this color and has any advice for me? Or are there any colorists who can give me advice? Do not answer if you are going to say go to a professional. I cannot afford that. Thanks for any helo you can give me!!

well why don't you see if Revlon can reccomend a online hair specilaist who works w/ coloring and talk to her if they can give you someone, ask who it will probably turn out or if they can reccomend any colors or tips while using their dye.

You just have to remember anything that says "Ash" is going to have green undertones. And you have red already in there. It's going to be interesting to see how exactally it reacts because you are not only going from a red to a green undertone but your lightening it also. You didn't say if you had any grey hair in there too. If so those are going to be a bit more resistant. I think though if you've never had trouble dying it at home.. then you might be ok. If this is your first time doing an "Ash" color just hope for the best.

anytime you dye your hair a lighter color than your natural color, it will not totally end up the shade you see on the box(unless of course, you bleach it first, then dye it...but that is a hassle). i know this from expirience, plus it also says so on the back of the box.
i think an ash blond is a always a good choice because it tends to look more natural than any other blond. you might also want to consider just getting a light brown...that would be your safest bet, since you already are a brunette. good luck!

I've dyed my hair since I was a freshman in high school. Whenever I want to try out a new color I go to Clairol.com and use their try it on studio. You download your picture and you can try on all sort of different hairstyles and colors. It's a great tool to use before you pick a color or cut.

It really depends on what you're into.
But I say pink or black. Or pink and black since you're pale and have blue eyes.

Like myself, black looks awesome.

if you go to light, such as blond with pale skin you'll look like a retard.

don't dye it at all. natural hair looks best. dyed hair looks unattractive. leave it how it is.
