If they really do not believe why would they even be in the religious section or care what other people think?

By the way, I do believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and have the right to post here. I also understand people that ask sincere questions onthe subject. I am talking about the questions that appear to be mean spirited to try to get a rise out of believers. My question is not meant to be derrogatory I really am just curious why they do it.

because they want to judge those who admit to their sins and want to serve God. Deep down they know their is a God who will judge us so they like to attack those who want to live their lives right

I majored in religious studies - I'm an agnostic atheist. I have a facination with religion, but I guess a bit of my studes were kind of "know your enemies."

Why are you irriated by these "stupid questions" - is it because they are provoking doubt in you? Questioning? Use of logic, reason, and confusion?

You're clearly irritated - you wouldn't be that irritated if you were entirely, wholly confident.

To: "dinah259" who asked how one can be an "Agnostic Atheist"

Think outside the lines. The lines are NOT your friends.

I don't believe in God. I don't think there is a God. No proof, no belief in religion, nothing. But at the same time, I don't *know*. If there is a God, it's not a male figure with a penis or a female figure with a vagina, or an old man in the sky, or one who has all these rules and games and conditions for humans. Or one who really gives a rats *** about humans, because we're pretty insignicant. But again, I don't think such a force/thing exists. But knowing (hardcore Atheism) is different from being an Agnostic (unsure). I'm somewhere in between - I have faith that there is no god(s) but I do not know that there are no god(s). Got it?

hey, that's a good question!!!
You people bother us with your creationism and dusty christian modesty, republican voting ways. We get over it easily though. We don't try to "convert" others to our belief system.
I don't anyway.

I know someone who is evangelical and won't get off the subject. I'm too afraid of her to even express my opinion!! The internet is the only place we can freely tell you how much we think you stink without feeling all guilty and like the bad guy that we are kicking Flanders and disputing his religion and contradicting his beliefs to his face.
No one wants to talk about religion in real life. This is a great outlet for Christians AND atheists, agnostics and people of other religions to vent safely. I think it is healthy for our society quite honestly. Let's let it all out and clear the air!! At least we will know where each other stands.

a pair of issues: a million. Solicitation purely isn't a question that is solicitation 2. maximum religious solicitation is seen as a spread of spamming (unwlecomed promotion/proselytizing) 3. this isn't a “Christian” website like Beliefnet the position religious perspectives are respected 4. detect a extra perfect attitude to marketplace/evangelize your beliefs like an internet site with all of your resources and elements in a unmarried position and placed that link into your profile 5. remember that this isn't the same crew of youthful human beings that you and that i have been—circumstances have replaced, those children are a lot extra properly suggested and they seem to be a lot less liable to the former classic arguments even as discussing religious themes 6. Do your homework—study the hot contra arguments that are properly publicized, study Dennet, Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens and procedures to counter the arguments that those many times used writers have made, and in case you do this with any degree of high quality judgment you're maximum certain to capture the interest of multiple non believers—guaranteed. 7. sidestep the former labels and stereotypes, and procedures to renowned variety of evaluations and ideology without resorting to demonizing procedures of keeping that folk are going to hell in the adventure that they don’t trust what you do because those styles of worry procedures do no longer artwork to allure to listeners.

Here we go again. I don't post questions to irritate believers. But I do have a right to be here, you know? This section is ALSO to say I don't believe, and that's what I'm doing.

Religions affect us all alike, because they trespass civil territory, and they influence on governments to pass laws (or to ban them) according to their preferences and desires. So, I have every single right to say I'm really angry that I have to do things (or I cannot do things) just because a religion I have the constitutional right NOT to be a member of, has decided what is good for me.

I'm here to claim my right to be left alone by religions. I don't want THEIR salvation.

Some people do not believe but may want to. Others just want to understand the reasoning behind believing. Many times, the questions are really not meant to be rude. They simply want to understand what has so many people believing.

To make you mad. LOL. Also I usually just go to the home page and answer new questions from there, so don't think were seeking you out. LOL. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion to truly believe in whatever religion you follow you must first be open to others thoughts and ideas.

For the same reason that believers post stupid questions to irritate non-believers!! And I thought that believers were supposed to be compassionate and love their fellow man-and also not judge others?? Your question doesn't say too much about you as a believer!!

How can one be an "Agnostic Atheist"???? Atheist's dont believe in a diety or "God" for the lack of a better work. Agnostic's believe that there may be some "higher power" or "force" or "mother nature" etc.., but think there's no way of finding out. It's not exactly an oxymoron, but touches upon it........

Probably because they've been told too many times they'll burn in Hell if they're not "saved". Religion is a two-way street. Everyone should respect each other's beliefs. Yet, I never seem to get hassled by atheists at my door selling their "wares" during dinnertime...
